- MCMartha CAug 19, 20265.020/10 experience at Maria Tash Houston Galleria! I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. I went in for a upper helix piercing and was very nervous due to a painful past experience—but Mary completely changed that for me. She was incredibly patient, calming, and skilled, walking me through every step and even guiding my breathing to make the process as comfortable as possible. Her attention to detail was amazing—she carefully checked placement from every angle multiple times to ensure it was perfect before piercing. I felt completely cared for and in expert hands the entire time. I originally planned for just one piercing, but because Mary made me feel so comfortable, I decided to get a second helix as well—and I’m so glad I did. They look beautiful and I’m absolutely loving them a week later. And the pain literally subsided after 24 hours. I can’t feel even feel it now. Rashida was also wonderful and so helpful in choosing jewelry. The selection is stunning and made the experience feel even more special. Overall, this was an incredible experience from start to finish. If you’re nervous about cartilage piercings, I highly recommend Maria Tash Houston Galleria—and especially Mary. She made what I expected to be stressful feel easy, safe, and even enjoyable.

We worked with Rashida for styling and walking us through the process and Mary was our incredible piercer. From the second we walked in the door, Rashida was welcoming and spent so much time with us in deciding what we were looking for. She worked with us to try so many different pieces and placements until we got it just right! Then, we worked with Mary as our piercer. They were the ABSOLUTE best. Not only did they make my mom and I so comfortable, the actual piercing process was seamless and as near painless as it can get. It's been a few days and our piercings look and feel great. Literally only trusting Maria Tash, Rashida, and Mary with future piercing needs :)

She was not pushy and didn’t try to upsell and gave me time to make my choice. I had an unpleasant experience at the NY store last March, she totally erased that experience. The store manager was also very friendly.

Are your earrings sold as singles or pairs?
MARIA TASH jewelry is sold as singles unless otherwise stated. To order a pair, please add two of the items to your cart. Our large earrings are the only items we sell in pairs. These items are pictured as a pair and the product description also states that they’re sold as a pair.
What size jewelry works best for me?
Our experience involves you pairing one-on-one with our stylists to completely guide you through your styling and piercing. There are multiple sizes to our jewelry, but our team will make sure that you are properly sized and confident.
What is the difference between a threaded and traditional stud?
Threaded backings use a screw-on/off design that makes the earring stay more securely in the ear. This is our standard style of jewelry. A traditional backing is also available. This is the traditional style of earring where you have a butterfly back that is separate and pushes onto the post to hold the jewelry in place.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Appointments are available for piercings but walk-ins are always welcome. Appointments are not required for fittings and installs or purchasing jewelry.
Can I be pierced with my own jewelry?
Due to sterilization needs, we do not pierce with jewelry that is not MARIA TASH. The best selections from our full collection will be available for styling and piercing. Our styles come in white, yellow, rose, and black gold. You're welcome to bring in your existing Maria Tash pieces and consult with a piercer to see if it can be used for an initial piercing.
How many piercings can I get in one session?
We recommend up to four piercings per session, but this is dependent on the piercings you are thinking about and your anatomy. Our stylists and piercers can best consult with you during your visit.
Can I be pierced if I am under 18?
Yes, please see piercing services page for each Maria Tash location. You must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and you both must bring ID with you. If the parent/legal guardian and child have different surnames, we require further identification to confirm guardianship i.e. a birth certificate. Please check each store policy as age when earlobe and cartilage piercing is permitted may vary by region.
Do you pierce with a needle or a piercing gun?
All of our piercings are made with single use sterile needles rather than piercing guns. We do not use piercing guns as they are not very accurate and cannot be properly sterilized.
