  THEY ARE NEVER ON TIME. Came here twice for a hair relaxer three months apart. Both times both stylists were late. The first time the first one was an hour late because she was working on another client. Second time the other stylist was 30 minutes late because she was late to work. I also requested the Olaplex 2 step add on service yet the lady gave me the Olaplex 4-in-1 conditioner treatment. I even literally pulled up the service menu and mentioned how even Olaplex says that the two step treatment is with step one being added directly into the relaxer. THIS lady gave me the darn 4-in-1 treatment which is worse compared to the 2 step. I even read the freaking bottle, but it was already too late.

  I was a JCPenney Collin Creek Mall Salon customer for over 20 years prior to moving out of the Dallas area - always seeing a Master Stylist and never feeling wronged, taken advantage of, or having a single complaint. When I was recently in town, I made an appointment at JCPenney Stonebriar. The stylist performed "color glossing" without informing me that she was doing the procedure or that it would cost at extra $25 - this was on top of the $95 cost for color, $150 for highlights (which I assumed would be partial since they were on top of color). Despite the stylist having performed all of these service at the same appointment, no "combined" price was given despite only having to wash, dry, style my hair once instead of if each service was performed separately. The salon manager, Lauren Corel, said that since Mai Vien was a top stylist of the company she could charge what she wants and she was not obligated to inform me of the cost before doing them (such as color glossing). The entire appointment lasted 1 1/2 hours and the total charge was $325. When I questioned Lauren Corel about being charged for the color glossing she said color glossing is necessary for the highlights to look right. In all the years since 1999 that I have had highlights done at Penneys and numerous other salons, I have never been charged extra for color glossing - I didn't even know what it was when I saw it on the receipt. This very much feels like a situation where the stylist knew I was from out of town and took advantage of the situation. The response from management: those prices look right for Mai and that she was sorry it wasn't in my budget. The pricing has nothing to do with my budget and everything to do with predatory pricing and practices. I won't be going back, but anyone who chooses to go there, should definitely get a quote up front unless you think a rate of $216.67+ per hour (not including tip) is appropriate for salon services.

  They’re really bad in giving the service, I strongly recommend not to go to this salon. The receptionist is very rude, she don’t know how to deal with the customer.

  I went here for a wash and blow dry with a curl. Stephanie did my curls, they were barely visible and uneven. After being late to my appointment she said she didn’t have time to tighten the curls. She kept going over the same spot with a straightener after putting in spray. I felt like my hair was not being handled with care. Would not recommend. My sister and I went in for the same treatment and got completely different results.
