  I do not recommend this salon for your safety and to avoid hair loss and damage. I had a very disappointing experience at the salon. During my visit, my FACE was actually cut by the beautician, which was both painful and concerning from a safety standpoint. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of the issues. The haircut itself was extremely uneven and poorly executed—it looked rushed and lacked basic precision. Additionally, the relaxer service was not applied correctly. As a result, my hair now has inconsistent curl patterns throughout, which is frustrating and will take time and effort to correct. I trusted this salon with my hair and left feeling upset and dissatisfied. I would strongly recommend better training, attention to detail, and care for client safety. At the very least, I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and works to improve the quality of service.

  I have used JC Penney Salon many times over the years but I am extremely disappointed in the service I received this past weekend. The stylist I used in January no longer worked there so I picked another. After the fact, I discovered she had only been licensed 2 months and it showed. She mainly used a feather knife in lieu of scissors and after I got home my daughter noticed it was incredibly uneven everywhere as far as length and thickness. The left of my bangs still reached my chin and the right hit my nose. Pieces on the ends were much thinner than the rest of hair and different lengths across the bottom. Furthermore, I specifically asked for my grey to be covered and she didn't touch my temples. I called this morning asking to be refunded for having to spend more time to get it fixed. The were insistent that they could only refund or fix and offered nothing for the inconvenience and trouble. This was not just dissatisfaction with the outcome; my hair more or less looked butchered. I left the salon with hair at my shoulders and once I had it fixed somewhere else, it had to be cut to my chin. If they had tried to make things right instead of being defensive, I probably would have come back. I can't say I'll ever use a JC Penney salon again.

  I would definitely recommend MeShelle for your hair. She really takes her time and is knowledgeable about hair. She has always been very punctual and professional. If you need a regular stylist. She is the onr!

  Meshelle has been taking care of my short cut for a while now, and she always keeps it looking fresh and beautiful. I have a standing appointment with her every other week because she is consistent, skilled, and pays attention to what I like. She is patient, friendly, and truly talented. I always leave her chair feeling confident and well taken care of. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist who truly knows short cuts and is skilled in all styles for African American hair. She really cares about her clients.
