  Oof! Went here earlier this week to get a foundation sample. Asked for a light bb or cc cream so my freckles can pop through. I get sent to a section and told someone will be with me. Girl walks up. Only swatches on my wrist. Doesn't use the shade match tech. Walks off gets my sample. Doesn't take any info from me to log what it is into my account. Thought that was weird from when I went there years ago, but oh well. Figured it was restructuring since they also took appointments from this location. Well, today I tried it. This stuff is awful and felt like saran wrap on my face. I have never reacted so viscerally to a make-up product. I had to wash it off. So, I call sephora, thinking they can use the literal code the girl wrote on the packet she put my sample in so I can avoid whatever ingredient that is making my skin feel like this. "No ma'am. I can't look it up off of that. You'll have to come in and show us since it didnt get put in your account." Tell me WHY I was able to look it up on sephora.com "T28 05 fair fax" (btw also just typed that on Google and it came right up.) Would've taken her two seconds-and knowledge she should have-to look it up. So I continue to research: apparently, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, which is in this product is KNOWN as a solid silicon that make it water resistant and feel heavy on the skin. I asked for LIGHT foundation. Why are you suggesting something with a solid silicon to me? Sorry, when I worked fashion retail or mall shops with body jewelry I was expected to know brands, ingredients, terminology, and basic company policy/operations. People come here for advice from people who are supposed to at least semi know what they're talking about. To sum up, my first time back to sephora in 10 years made me remember why I left. Thanks I guess?

  I had one of the worst experiences at Sephora in HAMILTON PLACE MALL CHATTANOOGA TN. Thursday, April 16th not many in people in the store at all but a lot of employees standing around. There were more employees than people. I walked in and there were several employees standing around talking, but not a single one made any effort to help. It felt like helping customers was the last thing on their minds. I finally had to approach someone myself and ask about a specific makeup item. She went to the back to check, and instead of coming back to me directly, she told someone over the mic that it was out of stock. Meanwhile, I’m just standing there waiting, completely ignored. Minutes later, she casually comes back out and asks if anyone told me—of course not. To make matters worse, the manager on duty black hair was standing right at the counter the entire time, setting absolutely no example for the team. If that’s leadership, it explains the poor service across the board. Overall, this was unprofessional, disorganized, and incredibly frustrating. I expected much better. I will not ever enter there again, and I will be informing others not to waste their time.
