  Having been to JC Penney salon in the past and two times more recently I was pretty comfortable going again as I did yesterday. Megan was my stylist and she had done a blow out once before and at that time I was happy with the results. Well, yesterday I had an appointment with Megan and I wasn’t happy with the results. After she finished initially I said I wanted it straighter or something to that effect and said I would pay the for her to straighten with the flat iron and she said I’ll try straightening it more and she proceeded to use a brush and a hair dryer again and honestly it didn’t look much better but I had other things to do so I paid and left. I am not looking for a refund but rather a redo this time using the flat iron. My hair is very textured and wavy and needs the flat iron used on it to get my desired results.

  They did a great job fixing the bad haircut I did on myself and one of my 3 kids I brought in. (The youngest is one and moved a lot so we just laughed off his bad hair 😅 but my other daughter stayed still and was great. My husband got his beard cleaned up and I was a little disappointed in the extreme amount of razor burns his whole face was red and blotchy. This was a month ago, we also took my oldest daughter a year ago as a last minute emergency bang trim before our family photos upstairs because her usual hairdresser canceled at the time and they where completely crooked and don't get me started on the HORRIBLE hair cut I got before a party there way back in high school. I'm not saying we'll never try here again because MY hair was great but I have been disappointed way more than I've been happy.

  I don’t recommend coming here unless you like being shamed and scammed. I was uncomfortable during the experience. I came in because I wanted to relax my hair ($80) and immediately she denied me saying she doesn’t relax hair... Which is ok but then I felt embarrassed and shamed since she was talking out loud saying my hair is extremely damaged and dry and saying I would go bald… she didn’t even do a strand test?? She recommended a chi smoothing treatment so I did that and a layered haircut. Layers were uneven and my friends pointed it out when I got home.. chi treatment costed over $250!!! though when I washed it the next week it was the exact them texture and frizziness when completely dried.. waste of money… if you don’t offer that server WHY list yourself under it 🤦‍♀️??

  I stopped in at the counter to inquire about prices. Apparently, they have three tiers? I was given a price quote and range for me and my daughter. Wanted to do something different but also needed some direction. I was initially booked for the wrong thing, but the stylist was accommodating. She didn't provide much guidance, input, or explanation. I was unfamiliar with some of the processes. For example, she put the color in, set the timer, and walked away without me knowing how long I was sitting. I asked how long the color would last and was told it would depend on how often I wash my hair...still don't know. My daughter's stylist was good. We were happy and she even offered us popsicles. Ultimately, I won't be returning for a few reasons. 1. My hair is darker than I asked for. 2. I still don't know when I will need to redo. 3. I have no idea what "tier" we received. 4. We paid about double $ what I anticipated after the tip and with what I was originally quoted.
