Superficial Chemical Peel
Also referred to as a “lunch time peel,” Superficial Chemical Peels typically have no down time, minimal discomfort and can be a great way to refresh and brighten dull skin by lightly exfoliating the outer layers of the skin. At SkinTique Studio we use ZO Medical peels and PCA peels. These treatments can be spaced out every 2-4 weeks for a series of 6-10 treatments, depending on your goals and your skin care specialist recommendations. Medium Depth Chemical Peel
Medium depth Chemical Peels are more intense than those of a lighter nature. The VI Peel, which is safe for all Skin Tones, and conditions is our go to. The recovery time can be 2-5 days. After Care
With any type of exfoliation, whether it be chemical, mechanical or granular the skin is more susceptible to sun sensitivity and sun damage. It is imperative that use with a proper SPF of 30-50 is applied in order to protect your skin from damaging harmful rays. At SkinTique Studio we will provide you with after care products to help speed up the healing process and nourish the skin. Once the peeling process starts it is important not to pick at the skin in order to prevent scaring.
Types Of Peels
Glycolic Acid: Is one of the most popular type of peels used in the aesthetic industry. It is great for exfoliation, fine lines and treating epidermal hyperpigmentation and skin texture.
Lactic Acid: Also known as the “loving acid” it is ideal for those with skin sensitivity, Rosacea, dryness, or dehydrated skin. Lactic acid is derived from milk and exists naturally in human skin. It is one of the most nourishing and moisturizing peels your skin and will provide a brightening results.
Salicylic Acid: Salicylic is able to penetrate deep into the oil glands. It is typically the standard go to when treating skin that is prone to acne or excess oil in the skin.
Enzyme Peels: Fruit enzymes also act as a peeling agent. Their function is digest the dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin. Enzyme peels come from fruits such as, Pumpkin, Pineapple, Cranberry and Papaya. They are used when treating hyper reactive skin, rosacea, sensitive and dehydrated skin.
TCA: Is used to treat textured skin, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, large pores, wrinkles and acne scars. It penetrates deeper into the skin and is usually used for medium and deeper peels.
Malic Acid: Malic acid is derived from pears and apples and is not as strong as glycolic. It can be a go to when treating superficial pigmentation, photo damage, acne, rosacea and eczema.
Tartaric Acid: Tartaric acid comes from grapes and is used as a mild exfoliation that will help with hydration in the skin. It is used treat superficial pigmentation, photo damage, rosacea, eczema, and acne. Not as aggressive as glycolic, it provides a great alternative to more superficial exfoliation.
Citric Acid: Citric acid comes from citrus fruit such as Lemons and Oranges. It provides a mild exfoliation and is used to treat superficial pigmentation, acne, rosacea, photo damage and eczema.
