  I had Keziah for my hairdresser and she was great! She cut my hair just to the length I wanted and left me feeling great about my new cut! Would definitely recommend!

  In February I went to the JC Penny Salon to have one inch trimed from my hair. The stylist cut 3 inches off and left it very uneven. A friend had the hello me fix it. Cutting off ore that asked is a big pet peav for me, I am a licenced stylist (license is in another state) and when I was working I was always very diligent to make sure I was giving the customer EXACTLY what was asked for. This stylist asked about the purple hair color that I have and I told her what it was, a professional permanent hair color, she knew the brand but then stated that she didn't know they made dark colors but that the salon only stocked their light colors. I politely told her it was the same color they had and that this is what it looked like on level 4 dark hair with out bleaching. I was a bit shocked that she didn't realize this. When she finish the hair cut that was supposed to be a trim, and I got up to go out, I was shocked at the length shr had cut off my hair. $50 with the tip and not wash before the cut, no style either... Good thing I had a hair clips to put it up. This was supposed to be my birthday present to myself because I take really good care of my haur and it does not need a trim often. In this case it needed an inch because my somewhat curly hair will on rate ocassion start to het split ends (around 1.5 to 2 years). So frustrated, especially since I have used JC Penny Salon a whole lot in my life.

  TLDR; Beware. Good prices, horrible communication. Worse outcomes. Background: I started with beautiful, very healthy level 6.5 natural brown hair. I asked for a semi permanent brown, maybe two shades darker than my natural. The goal was to tone down the remanents of an ombré that had been mostly trimmed back. I’ve used semis before to tone back ombres, and they always washes out in about 8-10 washes. This color didn’t. I came in a month later, confused why the color wasn’t fading. The stylist swore up and down that it was a semi I just needed to keep washing. So, I switched from a color safe shampoo to a clarifying shampoo and starting washing my hair daily, to no avail. Then I spent $200 on hair safe color removers. Baking soda. Vinegar. Hot oil. Head and Shoulders. Vitamin C. Every Google solution out there. It’s been two and a half months. It’s faded a half shade, but I have regrowth and a bad demarcation line. I called the salon back this morning to better explore the semi color brand they carried. Maybe google a more refined removal option. Turns out, THEY DONT CARRY SEMI COLOR. They use ColorSync, a Demi Permanent hair line. I’m so angry! I asked for a semi permanent. The stylist confirmed it was a semi when she put in on my head. I feel like I was intentionally lied to and now I’m left with a bad color job and expenses fixes that my damage my healthy hair.
