This afternoon, was my first time being inside of Hammer and Nails. I had received a gift card for my birthday and decided to go ahead and go check the place out on my day off today.
I will say it is a very nice place with very nice people. Everyone was very welcoming and very helpful on top of the salon smelling amazing as you walked in. I was greeted by an associate who had given me a tour of the place before seating me for my appointment. From the outside, it doesn’t look like a big place, but when I walked in, there was a lot to it, and it was calming and very soothing.
Will definitely be going back and will most definitely be recommending to all my friends.
Thank you to the Hammer and Nails Team for giving me such a great first experience!
(P.S. I never even knew that this was in the uniontown plaza, and I used to drive past it all the time!)

I’ve been going to Impulae for years, and I genuinely can’t recommend her enough. She recently moved to Hammer & Nails, and anyone looking for a barber/stylist who combines incredible skill with true professionalism should absolutely book with her.
What sets Impulae apart is not just the quality of her cuts and styles — which are consistently outstanding — but the way she connects with her clients. She takes the time to understand exactly what you want, remembers the details that matter, and makes every appointment feel comfortable and personal. You can tell she truly cares about the people in her chair and takes pride in her craft.
Whether you want a clean professional look, a modern style, or just someone you can trust every single time, Impulae delivers. Her attention to detail, consistency, and ability to make clients feel valued are second to none.
Highly recommend booking with Impulae if you want one of the best experiences and haircuts around.

Very impressed. Everything was explained to me and I was given a mini tour before I decided. The services offered for men's care are excellent . Pricing is by membership or just on your own. Haircuts, shaves, manicures, pedicures, a relaxing lounge, a cigar room, very impressive. I plan on being a regular.

Let me first start out by saying that my experience with the actual stylist themselves was great. My issue is I am on the spectrum and very very Sensory sensitive. So too much sound too much light too much touch and feel puts me in overload. I’m very picky about how my hair is cut and Brian did an amazing job getting me to style that I wanted. But everything else was massive overload and that’s more the concept of the facility itself more than Brian. I don’t like heavy smells. I don’t like heavy senses so my recommendation from a company standpoint not necessarily Brian as I’m pretty sure he’s following exactly what the company is telling him to do is before you do stuff like hot towels before you do stuff like put product in someone’s hair something with an odor or an aroma. Make sure you ask them that.Aking them about blood pressure if they’re allergic to any of the sense is a great question because there are a lot of people who are but you should also ask are you sensory sensitive? Are there certain senses that are very sensitive, sense of touch, sense of smell and adapt the services accordingly. Am I going to purchase a membership? probably not because it’s a massive amount of stress just to walk into that facility. I don’t like sitting by the bar. I don’t drink that makes me uncomfortable. I don’t like being by cigars, cause I don’t use tobacco that makes me uncomfortable. I want nobody touching me. I don’t want anyone touching my feet. I don’t want anyone touching my hands that makes me uncomfortable. And since I’m on the spectrum, there are a lot more people out there who have a similar view to me who would walk in there and just go into overload and I think the point in the concept of a facility like this is to attract men to come to a facility that is like a Male salon and offers the same services. But you are attracting one group of people and completely pushing another group away. This is one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. He listened and he did exactly what I asked him to do. But I probably won’t go back because I can’t handle the sensory overload. So it’s not really his fault. It’s Corporate’s fault or the franchise Owner’s fault for not being aware of the differences that people have. And being inclusive
edit: shortly after posting the original review I got a call from the locations ASM. Who basically said they are a franchise and have to follow corporate policy. Would I like to come in on a slower day to better serve me.
So let me get this straight. It is corporates policy to violate ADA.
if so I dont want to give my business to a company that willingly breaks the law. Would any of you reading this? How many people reading this have someone they know who falls under ADA? How would they feel to be in this situation? I wonder what the news would say? Its clear that
1. The ASM is not trained to handle this issue.
2. If the ASM was trained in this way, than it is corporates fault. And the entire company as a whole is in violation of ADA. That is not a good look for a luxury mens salon. So now since the local management could not properly rectify the situation let me try and edit my review. Maybe corporate will see it and try to fix the issue. But reading the canned responses to others issues I kind of doubt that..
