    I just had the worst experience going into this sephora. I I walked in when there was zero customers and there were three employees on the floor. When I walked in I received no greeting or hello from Alyssa the manager who greeted every other person after me that walked thru the doors during this horrible experience. After looking for a foundation and not seeing it out I had to ask an employee with brown long brown hair and cute makeup to open their storage drawer to see if there were anymore left and she respectfully told me it was out of stock. Not once during me trying to find a foundation and looking around was I asked if I needed help or greeted or spoke to in any way besides when I approached an employee who who seemed more busy than the other two employees (Emily and Alyssa ) . After hearing it was out of stock I decided I wanted to ship it to myself I asked Emily who was standing near by to order the foundation cuz it was not in stock. Emily looked for it online and informed me that she did not see it on the Sephora website and that this specific foundation shade was discontinued and they did not make it anymore. I was very confused by this and wondering why they would only discontinue one specific color…..? I told her that I was going on a big trip and was willing to drive to another location to get it. I asked her what the closest Sephora was and she told me the Danbury mall which is almost an hour away. The third employee which was working in perfumes heard this conversation and corrected her and told her there’s a Sephora down the street after hearing that she was going to send me an hour away. I asked Emily for the number to the closer Sephora and she told me I can just google it. But in my opinion noticed that was pretty insane to say to me and ended up giving it to me and told me and she couldn’t help me further. I ended up doing her job and checked the closest Sephora and called and spoke to a the employee there. She informed me it was available and they had a bunch in stock . While I was calling she was talking to Alyssa and looked annoyed I was calling. when she heard I found the foundation she didn’t offer me an apology or anything nor did Alyssa who was standing right next to here by the registers. Only person that was helpful in there was the girl with long brown hair and a great face of makeup. She looked like a amazing Sephora representative with that detail in her makeup and also treated me with respect. judging by this experience, Alyssa and Emily probably treat a lot of customers like that to be that comfortable acting the way they did. Also I want to make clear that Emily’s whole convo with me about the foundations being out of stock and the closest Sephora being in hour away was allllllll done in front of the store manager Alyssa who didn’t offer one piece of advice to me or the person she’s supposed to be managing and looked annoyed that I needed her help. Sooooooo disappointing because I go here a lot. Also attached is a pic of what I needed not shown as discontinued. Would have took 2 min prob to figure out that the Sephora down the street in Kohl’s had this. And again sucks the manager didn’t offer any suggestions but decided to instead have personal loud conversations in front of me while I was being ignored. let’s say something was wrong with the stock on Emily’s end and it showed discounted when it shouldn’t have there’s still no reason to go about things the way she did . In the past I’ve worked in retail and there have been so many times where I’d call a store up for a customer or look it up myself to see if something was in stock. I understand if if it was busy and not having the time to do this but I was THE only customer in the store at the time when I was asking about this cuz the few customers that were briefly in there walked out while I was finishing up picking out items to purchase . When I was asking for this to be shipped I was once again (like when I first walked in and was ignored) was the only customer in the store.

    I had a disappointing experience at the Sephora in the Poughkeepsie Galleria. I went in for a simple exchange because the foundation shade I originally purchased was too light for my skin. The checkout associate I dealt with was unhelpful and seemed to have an attitude throughout the interaction, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was told that the shade I needed was completely sold out and that it couldn’t be ordered in-store, so I was only offered a refund. However, when I got home, I found that the exact shade I was looking for was readily available online, including on Sephora’s own website. That left me confused and frustrated, as it seemed like more could have been done to assist me. I understand that inventory can vary by store, but I would have appreciated a more helpful and solution-oriented approach—such as offering to order the item or at least explaining my options more clearly. Customer service should feel supportive, especially for something as simple as a shade exchange.
