  Just a bizarre place. I went in on Tuesday evening to get a shorter back for my earring. My friend visited the Rockefeller center location Monday for me, but they insisted they absolutely couldn’t give her shorter backs because they had to see me in person to see what was wrong with me that I needed such a small back. Nothing is wrong, I’m just (very) small. So I finally made the trek to get the new backs myself. They were annoying about telling me about their new policy to charge $10 for a downsize. They agreed to waive it and acted like it was a real accommodation, though I’d originally bought the earrings with the understanding that shorter backs would be free. Then they only had backs 1mm shorter, and didn’t think that would be short enough. But apparently that’s all they carry. They were in fact correct that the 5mm wasn’t short enough, and my earrings still won’t stay in place. Frustrating the original salesperson didn’t let me know they wouldn’t fit me before she sold me $300 earrings. And then when I started putting my earring back in my ear (after I’d clearly asked them if it was ok to take out my earring to show the length of the back), they told me that their policy is that I couldn’t put it back on in the store. Yes, this is the bizarre part. She offered to bring a mirror to the window for me (!) so I could put them on outside. And acted all sweet, like I was the crazy one for not being ok with that. If they didn’t want me putting my earring on in the store, they should have mentioned when I offered to take the earring off. Because no, I wasn’t going to take my tiny overpriced earrings outside and risk losing them in a grate. Anyway, have a worthless pair of $300 earrings, and got a whole lot of attitude from the staff.   Got upcharged for a stud I didn’t want after the sales rep lied and said it would be free with ear piercing.

  got three piercings (one conch two cartilage) at the same time from this location last July. Follow ups + post downsizes were free at the time. Went in today for my final post downsizes and they charged me $30 to my surprise. Prob too expensive for the experience + some of the piercers may not have the credentials. Also, my 3 piercings are still healing after 9 months and good upkeep. Had bumps on them for a while. I’d recommend a professional piercer - this is mostly a jewelry store. Update: their customer service refunded me as I was pierced before they started charging for downsizes. Still - id recommend a place w/ more experienced piercers.
