When I bought (very overpriced) new earrings, they insisted on giving me extra long backs since my earring holes were almost closed and they said it might swell up. But they said backs are free, so I can always come back for regular backs.
The earrings always looked bad with the long backs, and the store was out of my way, so I never wore the earrings after the initial 6 week period, until I finally made it there to get regular length backs. Except those were too big too, and my crawler earring is always twisting and looking like it’s falling out of my ear. Studs is out of my way, so I just continued not to wear my earrings, but when my friend was going there to get a new piercing, I asked her to pickup smaller backs for me. But the sales person refused to give the right sized backs, and gave a laundry list of excuses. From, “the jewelry changed (it didn’t), to saying that she has to see me to see why I need such small backs (as though she has no idea that people come in different shapes and sizes), and then she said she could only provide the backs for $10 (the backs that I was told were free with my extremely overpriced earrings)
So $300 later, I have overpriced earrings I can’t wear. At that price point, at least have customer service…
