Union square location customer service is horrible , I had several employees looked directly at me and not ask me for help. They were not assisting anyone else. This is the worst location, unfortunately they cater to the tourist and the white customers.
cute store and everything but out of stock in almost everything 😬how are u a makeup store but running out of makeup? but the workers are so nice

Very disappointed with the customer service at this location. Came to this location multiple times, & each experience has been the same where the workers are unapproachable, don’t want to help and are disrespectful from entering the store, not being greeted although there’s someone there to greet those walking in or being offered a bag to carry products. Then, I was given attitude just by simply asking for help, then I was told someone would be with me shortly & no one came & had to help myself. Let’s not forget about the cash out process and their dismissive attitude… very disheartening to experience truly! & I hope this is something that can be noted within their team and change.
My experience at the Union Square Sephora was very disappointing.
First, I would like to compliment Minerva and another associate, a Black woman with straight hair who may have had a burn or scar. She was very pleasant, friendly and truly willing to help me. She was so respectful and welcoming, I really do appreciate her service.
However, the second associate's behavior completely overshadowed Minerva and the first associate's kindness. This employee, an older white woman wearing a Lululemon belt bag, stood watching me as I shopped and proceeded to ask me where I live and how I can afford to buy the items that were in my shopping basket. I found these questions to be absolutely inappropriate and irrelevant as they have nothing to do with helping me.
Combined, I was being watched and being interrogated on how I was able to afford these items, which made me feel singed out, and as though I was racially profiled. Whether it was her intention or not, that's how I felt when her actions are considered. Shopping is supposed to be enjoyable but I left the store feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and unwelcome.
I did mention it to the store manager as I left, she was pleasant, and listened and promised to speak with the associate. I also do appreciate her listening to me, and taking my complaint seriously.
However, in my opinion the entire experience has left such a sour impression on me that I feel like I do not want to return to this location, but I do hope Sephora does further training with employees to make them realize they must treat each and every customer with respect and dignity and without regard for who we are, and I do hope Minerva and the other associate receive special thanks for there outstanding services!
I came to Sephora to buy a perfume, but I wasn't sure which one to choose. La’yaa, who works there, was incredibly helpful and guided me through the options with great patience. Her warm smile and kind attitude made my shopping experience absolutely amazing!
She made such a positive impression that I'll definitely come back to this Sephora location whenever I need to shop.
