  I had an extremely disappointing experience at Rowan and honestly left feeling uncomfortable and targeted. My original appointment was scheduled for 4 PM and was later changed by the store to 6:45 PM. Despite that, by around 7:20 PM we still had not been seen — even though it appeared we were the last appointment of the night. The shop was overcrowded, chaotic, and extremely loud, yet the issue somehow became my child quietly playing with his toys while we waited. One of the nurses told my son to stop playing because he was “distracting” her, which felt completely unnecessary considering the noise level in the store overall sounded like a cafeteria. We were also the only Black family there at the time, and the interaction honestly left me feeling racially profiled and singled out. What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism afterward. The young woman at the front refused to provide her name when asked, and when I asked the nurse for hers, she simply responded “Rowan” instead of identifying herself appropriately. If there are policies regarding children in the waiting area, they certainly were not clearly posted or communicated beforehand. I understand businesses get busy, but professionalism, transparency, and respectful treatment of customers should still be the standard. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that at all.

  We went for an ear piercing appointment on my child’s 8th birthday. She was a bit nervous and scared at first, but Victoria was very kind, patient, and supportive throughout the whole process. She made her feel comfortable and took her time, which really helped my child relax. In the end, everything went smoothly and safely, and her ears were pierced beautifully. We are very happy with the experience and truly appreciate Victoria’s warm care.💜

  My daughter had her ears pierced here in October. Despite following the aftercare instructions carefully and keeping everything clean, her piercings became infected and ultimately closed. When we went back to have them redone, I was told we would need to pay for a full re-piercing and purchase a new pair of earrings. That response was disappointing. While I understand the importance of hygiene and maintaining professional standards, there was no acknowledgment of the situation or any effort to offer a reasonable solution. For a service like this—especially involving children—I would expect a bit more accountability or at least some flexibility when things don’t go as planned. Instead, it felt transactional and dismissive.
