Came here to say Amanda is phenomenal! I lost my receipt I was given to write a review but I had to let everyone know she’s awesome. She was super kind, knowledgeable, gave me her undivided attention and set me up for success. I’m darker skinned and sometimes it can be a hassle to find products and matches but let me tell you, If you need help, she’s the one. Loved her. Hanes mall Sephora you need more Amanda’s!

I went in today with my friend to buy some things. I located an employee he was a male with long pin straight black hair. I asked him about a shade of the road peptide lip tint for my friend which we didn’t see in line. He said he would check the drawer and then the back. I said “okay.” Was super respectful, as I work at Ulta beauty as a lead and understand retail workers. He left after opening the drawer and I thought something was stuck in the drawer so I cracked it open, never fully opened it, and closed it. I never rummaged in it never even fully looked in it, AGAIN I work as a lead at Ulta beauty we have drawers as well and I understand the safety hazard that comes with customers rummaging through them and messing up inventory and dealing with LP. He comes back after taking quite sometime, and goes “I don’t know if it was you guys but I heard the drawer open.” I looked at him in confusion and was like “what drawer?” He goes “this one.” I just responded with a shocked and also confused “oh?” As he came off really strong and hostile. He then goes “yeah we don’t do that here.” Shoves the lip balm at me and rolls his eyes and storms off without another word. I was shocked to say the least as I have never had a bad experience here, and i try to be as respectful as I can to other retail workers as I LITERALLY work for the other team. Me and my friend stood there for a second, I was very shaken up and decided to just place my stuff down and leave. I don’t think I will ever return to this Sephora again, I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or what but to assume I opened a drawer all the way and rummaged through it and then to approach me and speak to me in the hostile way he did was crazy. I have NEVER spoken to a guest like that and he alone was all me and my friend needed to never return. I don’t do reviews usually but I can’t believe Sephora has someone working for them like this and speaking to guests like this. Unacceptable.
Bad customer service. The past few times I’ve been in no one has greeted me or offered any kind of assistance.
Maybe they’re trying to not be pushy but it comes across as if they don’t want to be bothered. The employees can usually be found talking, laughing, and trying products amongst themselves, but if you look their way they just stare you down. Very uncomfortable shopping experience…
I come to the mall often so I wish I had better experiences here. I’ll be sticking to the one at Thruway or the Ulta up the road.

This review is specifically for Linda. She went above and beyond to help me out with a customer service issue. Thank you for your kindness!

I went into Sephora on Aug 3 at 5:45pm. The first employee, a young African American man in designer glasses (I believe named TJ), was extremely helpful and professional and helped me pick out a new product. He was a wonderful employee and I wish there were more people in the world like him. The problem occurred when I went to the check out desk. A woman with dark hair and Caucasian completion covered in glitter was extremely unprofessional and rude during the checkout process. I asked if I could redeem my birthday gift and was advised multiples times that I needed to do so in my birthday month. I told the employee I was under doctor orders to not leave the house during my birthday month due to a miscarriage I had to which the employee just restated the policy again and then said, “you can always order online.” This woman was callous and uncaring about her customers’ lives given my personal situation. I will not be shopping at Sephora in the future due to this one employee. Reading reviews online of this store, it appears that this same woman as been working there for many years, and I do not understand why a company would want to keep such a horrible employee as their customer-facing representative.
I did receive a call from the main manager, Maria, and she offered her deepest condolences for my personal situation as well as my interaction with the employee in the store and stated that the situation should have been handled differently and would be addressed with the employee. Maria was very polite, professional, and understanding about the situation and offered me some additional sample products which I declined by advising her that I will not be coming into the store again. I appreciate her management of the situation and do hope the individual employee is able to improve her emotional intelligent in customer-facing situations.
