  Excellent color, excellent cut, and excellent stylist. The salon is well run and organized. I have about 4a textured hair, the only issue is that I’m not 100% sure they have products that are best for curl type 4 highly textured hair. I will be back regardless. Angelina was terrific!

  Laura and the team were so incredibly welcoming and accommodating! This was my first curly cut, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Laura listened and translated what I wanted so perfectly, I felt very confident that my hair would be well taken care of! I can’t recommend her more!

  I have been customer with Alter Ego for almost 5 years now and I can say without a doubt they are one of the best salons in Raleigh. From the services, the stylists, to the atmosphere and music choices, they are a fantastic place that I recommend with my whole heart. Extremely welcoming place no matter who you are. If you're someone with shorter hair looking for a barber (or someone with longer hair looking to make the big chop) book Kyle Mitchell. He's been my barber and he will hook you up.

  Ive been going to alter ego for years! They’ve had me blonde, brunette, pink-haired, all kinds of colors and they DONT MISS. There was one time some five years ago I left with my blonde a little brassy and they had my ass back in a chair expeditiously and fixed my hair in one session. They’d taken care of me before so I trusted them to make it right, they did, and I’ve been an enthusiasts ever since 😍

  My experience at Alter Ego with Aspen and her assistant, Riley, was 5+ star-worthy! I've been a client at Alter Ego for almost 4 years now, but this was my first experience with Aspen who is one of the most talented hair stylists I've met. Her cutting skills are superb! Our exchange during the consultation was productive and positive, and she truly understood where I was coming from. I'm thrilled with my haircut, and totally pleased to have found Aspen at Alter Ego. FYI, parking is very convenient, Alter Ego is cashless, and their system is efficient and fast, their welcome team at the desk is pleasant and extremely helpful, and they carry a fabulous selection of products. I highly recommend Aspen if you desire top quality stylist skills. She was SO patient as I was looking for the reel of my 'inspo' photo. You will love her energy, enthusiasm and exuberance. I am so looking forward to booking with her for color at my next appointment. She is truly talented. My before and after pix are below.
