Zoila and Lawrence gave us the best massages we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, The Woodhouse Day Spa made us feel so special while celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. Every detail was thoughtful and made the experience feel luxurious and personal. We’re visiting from Savannah, and this was truly the highlight of our trip. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable!

I’ve been a Woodhouse patron for a long time (primarily Charleston locations). This was my first time in Charlotte and it was sadly very disappointing. We went as a group of 4 to celebrate my mom’s birthday, all with planned 80-minute services. First, we got a call the day of that one esthetician was out for an emergency so they’d have to switch one of us to a massage - no biggie, stuff happens. When it came time for our appointments, my mom and sisters went back right on schedule. I sat there for 10 minutes past my appointment time before finally going to the front desk and asking about the delay. They told me my massage therapist was running late but would be there soon. No one proactively told me, I had to be the one to ask which was frustrating in itself. They really weren’t even that apologetic. I would have assumed a manager would come by and check in, but not a word. Thirty minutes past my appointment time, my therapist finally shows up and showed me to the room (in what felt like a sprint to get there). When I got on the massage table it was ice cold (usually they are warmed) and he didn’t ask whether it was a good temp before beginning the massage. The massage itself was fine but it felt like he was rushing through it. I was supposed to have an 80-minute but I asked that we just do 50 minutes so I could finish at the same time as the rest of my party. It felt rushed even for a 50-minute. He was going so quickly through the movements it just did not feel relaxing, on top of already feeling stressed about being behind. Following my service, I took a shower and every single towel on the shelf felt damp and heavy and just gross. And finally as I was changing back into my clothes by my locker, the spa employee was showing a new guest where her locker was and rather than waiting for me to quickly finish dressing just kind of rudely moved into the space I was in, so I had to move to the side half-naked. The front desk did put together little gift bags for us (with an eye mask, a nail file and a sample moisturizer) as an apology which was a nice gesture, but it generally just was a truly disappointing experience and we won’t be back to this location.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Woodhouse Spa. I am honestly disappointed about everything. I arrived 30 minutes early to my appointment and was immediately taken back to the changing room. The staff was friendly and explained the lockers and calming room. I changed into my robe and went to my dedicated chair in the calming room. The calming room is not calming. Employees are walking in and out constantly and there is a lot of noise. My service was supposed to start at 5:30 but I was not taken back to my service until 5:45. There was no apologize for being late or explanation. The service was for 80 minutes but it was rushed and I didn't have my full 80 minutes.5:45 to 6:45 when the service was done. It was completely rushed and I was not relaxed. During the massage I could hear people next door and in the hall talking loudly. The walls are so thin. Afterwords I just wanted to leave but when I got to the locker room there were so many people. I wanted to shower but there were 5 people in a line waiting for the 2 showers. I just wanted to leave. So I just got dressed in front of strangers and headed out with oil all over me. Not worth the $300+ dollars. I wonder if this is normal for this spa or if maybe I do not understand how I can make sure the experience is better because I was so disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience at this spa. This visit was supposed to be a special Father’s Day gift for my spouse. I will say that the facility was very clean when we arrived. However, I was disappointed that there was no sauna or steam room like other Woodhouse Spa locations I have visited. When we checked in, Darcy at the front desk asked if we wanted to use our VIP room before or after our massages. Since our appointment started at 10:00 a.m. and we arrived around 10:05 a.m., we chose to use it afterward. We were limmediately taken back for our detox massages. My spouse had a wonderful experience. His massage therapist explained everything thoroughly and made him feel comfortable throughout the service. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. My treatment felt rushed and lacked the relaxing massage experience I expected. Instead of thoroughly applying and working in the products, it felt like the treatments were simply placed on my body and quickly moved through. At one point, I even had to ask if the mud mask was supposed to be applied to my chest because it had been forgotten and was only added after I mentioned it. While receiving my massage, I had actually considered adding additional services, including a facial and face mask. However, the way my service was being delivered made me change my mind. The massage felt rushed and lacked attention to detail, and I was not willing to spend even more money only to risk being further disappointed. What disappointed me most was the VIP room experience. After our services, we were told we could not use the VIP room because it was busy. Instead, we were told we could sit outside of it. I asked Darcy why we had been given the option of using the VIP room before or after our services if it would not actually be available afterward. She explained that guests usually arrive 30 minutes early. However, this was never communicated in the confirmation email or during booking. Had we known that, we absolutely would have arrived earlier. Overall, I highly regret choosing this location. While the facility was clean and my spouse enjoyed his service, my treatment and the lack of access to the VIP experience we paid for left me feeling disappointed. Being told that the VIP room was unavailable because they were too busy felt unprofessional, especially after we had specifically been asked when we wanted to use it. Based on my experience, I would recommend exploring other spa options in the Charlotte area if you are looking for a full luxury spa experience with consistent amenities, attention to detail, and customer service.

I stopped in for a prenatal massage and soothe + hydrate facial while down in Charlotte for the week. The staff was kind, facility is clean and atmosphere is very relaxing. My massage was okay, I’ve had better elsewhere for much cheaper, but she did work out the knots in my shoulders and back so I appreciate that. She also gave me oil to use to help stretch marks with the pregnancy. The facial though, I was not impressed with. Overpriced, like I said I’ve had better elsewhere for much cheaper. She did extractions on me without asking and I really preferred not to have any done as my skin is very sensitive (which I listed “sensitive skin” on my client intake form), she also did an exfoliation which I was not down for as I had a rash around my mouth due to pregnancy. I finally got my rash under control a couple weeks ago and now it’s been super red and burning, ended up scabbing over the next day. I’m a licensed aesthetician in the state of WI so I have been through the training and floor hours for this before and have had plenty of facials and massages elsewhere. Normally, when you go in for a treatment (at least with what I was taught and from experiences going to other businesses), you fill out the form and they go over the form with you in the room and ask if it’s okay to do A, B, and C (example: extractions, exfoliation, etc). The massage therapist did go over my form with me in the room but the esthetician doing the facial did not. Also, when booking my service, I noted in the form I received via email that I was in the second trimester. I received a text 2 days before asking what trimester I was in. I found it odd to have to repeat it again but I appreciate the double checking. The day before my services, I got another text message asking if I wanted to add on sauna service to my booking, I declined and once again stated that I was pregnant. And arriving to my appointment, I was offered 2 times a mimosa to drink. I AM PREGNANT! After the facial with the exfoliation, I’m wondering what was even used on my face and if it was safe at all. I don’t like having to leave bad reviews especially when everyone was kind to me, but I was left really disappointed and honestly a little on edge.
