  Katie cut my hair for me, and let me tell you I absolutely LOVE IT! I had wanted a “special” cut, a long shag and after attempting to find someone in my own town I reached out to people in Springfield and that lead me to Katie. I’ve been wanting this haircut for 2 years and 3 other people cut it and disappointed me because they couldn’t do a shag. I drove 3 hours to see Ms.Katie she is super sweet and nice I had a blast with her. I will definitely be going to see her again and you should too!

  I debated on posting this but at the end of the day I want to inform others so they can make their own decisions carefully. Ive never gotten my hair cut by someone before so maybe it was a miscommunication with my stylist. I did tip generously even though I ended up hating my cut because I’m socially awkward and felt uncomfortable. I made no scene and left immediately. Take into account this is after 8 hours. Again I debated on making a post but if you ever want to get layers as in the pictures below just know this salon won’t make that happen. First photo is what I got and second few is what I asked for and showed them. I’ll be wearing my hair in a slick back for the next month if even possible. My hair is a staple to my life and personality. Having curly hair as a kid and coming from a Hispanic household who only knew how to care for straight hair I struggled to accept my curls so I’ve now kept it straight and love how it looks but even now that love has been stripped from me again.

  The salon was very beautiful, clean, and professional. Jordyn got me in really quick for an event I have coming up soon! Her color for me was absolutely perfect and I loved it !

  Alan Perez was wonderful. I absolutely love my hair color and cut. My favorite part about the experience was how Alan asked a lot of questions in order to understand my wants for my hairstyle, instead of just assuming what I wanted. The last place I went to was 417 Salon. I did not get the color I wanted and I was charged $35 more than the website stated. Blue Skies was cheaper and I actually got the color I wanted!

  First, I want to start by saying a HUGE "Thank you!" To katie shelton, who did my hair! She has built my confidence back up, and made me feel on top of the world with how amazing she did my hair cut- I literally left the salon looking in the mirror and thinking: "No one can tell me NOTHIN'!! " 🌟😎🔥 And three days later, im still smiling from ear to ear looking at my new 'do in the mirrors I pass by. Starting off, my hair is very...very thick. All my life it has been hard to find a hair stylist who can manage it because its...a lot. And on top of that, finding someone who is on top of the latest trends too. I did a lot of research on who I would go to, and kept seeing the same names pop up over and over: Katie Shelton + Blu skies salon. Katie's name was even mentioned on reddit under the "Top hair stylists" and "Best hairstylists 417" posts. Seeing that with her work on Instagram told me...ok. You have to book now! From start to finish she was so nice, charismatic, and told me step by step how the cutting/styling process would go. I felt so at ease knowing she really knew her stuff! And wasnt just someone wanting to get a client in the chair and hope for the best- she really and truly went above and beyond what I expected. The finished look was way better than what I imagined, and I know I'll be a client for life!
