  Our boy gets a haircut once a month. Two weeks ago, an hr before his appointment, the owner called to say it was canceled because the cutter had called I sick. I asked if there was any way to fit him in that day as his hair was quite long, he said no and that was that. We managed to rebook although we thought about going to another shop. Today, 10/3/26, we arrived 10 minutes early for our 11:15 appointment. While we waited, Nate came out at 11:05 and took another customer to his space without saying a word to us, even though he knew we had checked in. We understand that the schedules slip. All we needed was a simple acknowledgment. By 11:36, Nate was still with that customer. I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She went to Nate, and came out saying he is almost done. When he finally came out, he said nothing to me, and it was clear that he was irritated. He asked how we wanted the cut and we showed him the photo. He started with machine cut very roughly, and although the boy asked if his hair could be washed first, he totally ignored it, and just continued with such a anger that I had to stop him asking him to be kind to the boy and if he was unhappy with us, then he should direct that to us. He did wash his hair afterwords. The cut looked nothing like the photo and was the worst cut the boy has ever had. After a last minute cancellation, a 23 minute wait with no acknowledgement, and a child treated this way, I left with a feeling that customers are not supposed to raise any questions here. Student charges are 53 dollars here, but Nate gave 50% discount for waiting he said. *Mr. Hulse, your response speaks for itself. I am sorry to hear about your stylist’s family emergency. You must have been upset when you called me early in the morning on weekend while trying to cancel and reschedule everyone. I get it now. I hope everyone is okay….? As for Nate, I am glad that he is taking two months off soon and I hope he finds his peace somehow…. .No worries, I will certainly take my business elsewhere as you suggested.   I’ve been coming here for about two years now, and every stylist I’ve had has always done a great job. However, for the last 3–4 visits, I’ve specifically been coming to Sandra, and she is absolutely amazing! Every time, she does such a great job cutting my hair. She’s always so sweet, great to talk to, and pays attention to every little detail to make sure my hair looks exactly the way I want it. I always leave happy with my haircut and know I’m in good hands with her. 18/8, you are very lucky to have Sandra on your team! She’s truly a fantastic stylist and an even better person.

  Lucas here! First time visit at 18/8 Fine Mens Salon was incredible!! I had an amazing experience while Karsyn and i spoke. She has wonderful communication, a bright and bubbly personality, and somebody you feel like you can trust and depend on with your appearance. She followed all of my instructions perfectly and did so quickly as well! HIGHLY recommend as someone who has had terrible experiences in the past with people not following instruction correctly at OTHER salons across the US. Thanks for a great experience, I’ll definitely be returning💚.

  Just went to 18/8 and bre cut my hair by far the best customer service and haircut I have gotten. She really does care what your hair looks like when she is done she strives for perfection! If you decide to give this shop a try ask for bre she is the definition of a perfectionist you will not be disappointed!

  I went to 18/8 last week to get my hair cut, my hairstylists name was Brie. I asked her for a modern mullet but to leave the sides a bit longer than a buzz, she told me she had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently she's never heard of a modern mullet. After 15 minutes she said she was done and it didn't look great so I asked her to take some more off. she does, and I get up and leave with an ok haircut. Until later when I get home I realize the left side of my hair is at least a few centimeters longer than the right. She also cut less off the top of my left side. I am now going somewhere else to have them fix it. I had a haircut with Brie about a year ago and I got a much better haircut than now. Seems like she rushed my cut to get me out of there. i Paid $65 not including tip for a great clips haircut. The place is nice, but I am very dissatisfied and will not be returning. Come here if you want a waste of money. 2 stars is generous for my experience.
