booked a treatment at woodhouse spa and it was a nice break from a busy week. the place felt calm as soon as i walked in, and the staff made me feel comfortable right away. everything was clean, relaxing, and never felt rushed. left feeling refreshed and already thinking about coming back.

The massage itself was great, which makes the front desk experience even more disappointing. From the moment I checked in, the treatment I received felt noticeably colder and more dismissive than other guests around me.
I arrived at my appointment time, was respectful the entire visit, and paid for this experience just like everyone else. However, it was hard not to notice the difference in hospitality when the two guests before me were warmly greeted, asked about their experience, and acknowledged personally while I was not offered that same level of basic courtesy. I was there celebrating my birthday as well, yet was never once asked if I was celebrating anything when I arrived or even acknowledged the way other guests were.
What especially stood out was being asked at checkout if I was “paying with a gift card,” despite that not being asked to the guests before me. Combined with the overall tone throughout the visit, it came across assumptive, rude, and honestly insulting.
For a spa that markets itself as a luxury experience, the front desk staff completely missed the mark on professionalism and hospitality. Every paying guest should be treated with the same level of respect and warmth, not based on assumptions staff may make about them.
The massage therapist was wonderful, but unfortunately the front desk interactions overshadowed the experience and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing birthday visit.

I recently booked the Hydrotherapy Head Spa Retreat and unfortunately left disappointed. I do want to mention that I frequent this spa and have always had wonderful experiences here in the past, which is why this was especially surprising to me.
The staff member was very kind and tried to help after I mentioned being cold, but the overall experience was not relaxing for me. My hands and feet were freezing during most of the treatment, and even with extra towels I still felt cold and uncomfortable. The shoulder massage portion was also very minimal.
For a $150 spa treatment, I expected to leave feeling deeply relaxed and restored, especially based on the description, but that wasn’t my experience. I really wanted to love it, but overall it did not feel worth the price.
That said, I truly appreciate the way management handled my feedback afterward. They took the time to listen to my concerns and showed that they genuinely care about their clients’ experiences. Because of my many positive visits here over the years, I will definitely continue coming back and trying other services.

Poor experience with front desk staff. This spa has prices of an elevated experience but terrible customer service and no amenities. The team was condescending, rude and left me feeling upset and dismissed - not what one expects when arriving or leaving a spa service.
Edited for response to David, I wanted to clarify it is less about the exercising of policies (though misconstrued from your team entirely and will also follow up via phone as you seemed to only source one side) but more so the handling of the situation. I believe the old adage goes it’s not always what you say but how you say it. The verbiage used and tone was unprofessional and unkind. I do expect better out of a front of house customer service role, especially for two paying patrons.

Spa Reservations
To ensure your preferred appointment time, it is recommended you schedule your spa experience with as much advance notice as possible or at the conclusion of your last experience. Our professional staff allocates time especially for each guest, therefore, a credit card is requested to guarantee these reservations. All spa experiences are subject to availability. Menu service and prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Credit cards are required to reserve all appointments, including those using gift cards. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
Spa Arrivals
To begin your spa journey in a relaxed state, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. For a new guest, please allow 30 minutes to accommodate completion of your guest profile. Spa robes, slippers, private lockers and beverages are provided for your comfort. Delayed arrival will limit the time for your experience, reducing the effectiveness of your treatment and the expectations of your visit. In consideration of other spa guests, service time will not be extended for delayed arrivals, and the full price of your service will be charged. Please notify our staff if there are any special physical or medical needs or conditions they need to consider prior to your services (i.e. pregnancy, food or product sensitivities or aggressive medications). We recommend that valuable items be left at home. Woodhouse is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Spa Cancellations or Rescheduling
As a courtesy, you will receive a confirmation of your reservation prior to your arrival. Should the need arise to cancel or reschedule reservations, a 24-hour advance notice is required. A 48-hour advance notice is required for any spa packages and multiple treatments lasting more than 2 hours. Insufficient notice to cancel or reschedule reservations are subject to charges up to full service value. All no show reservations will be assessed a charge at full value of services. Spa Parties are subject to terms of agreement for cancellations.
Minor Policy & Spa Requirements
Guests between the ages of 13-17 require a parent to be in the room for any spa service received. So that all guests may experience a pleasant and peaceful environment, we ask that only those receiving services accompany you to the spa.
Spa Payments, Gratuity, and Gift Cards
Payments are accepted in the form of Cash, most Major Credit Cards and Woodhouse Spa Gift Cards.Woodhouse gift card contains value which may be used to purchase products and services at face value. This card cannot be used to purchase other gift cards. The card must be presented at time of purchase and the available balance will be applied to the transaction. Prices vary by spa and are subject to change without notice. Spa locations are individually owned franchises solely responsible for any and all gift card liabilities at their respective locations. Redemption of this card is subject to certain restrictions and expirations set by each spa location or state regulation. Should this card be redeemed at another location, the card will be redeemed at face value. This card is non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash. Any unused balance will remain on the card. This card is not transferable and Woodhouse is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged or unauthorized use of the card. No express or implied warranties apply. Series of services are not refundable, but can be converted to spa credit. There will be a $50.00 fee each time a check is returned as well as any incurred charges for collection of payment owed. Gratuities are not included in the value of the services and are at the discretion of the guest.
Spa Products and Returns
In the event you are not satisfied with a skin or body care product, you will be given spa credit if the product is returned within 30 days of purchase. For other retail items, a refund will be issued as spa credit or back in the form of which payment was received within 30 days of purchase.
