I have been shopping at SalonCentric since it was Maly’s, dating back to 1993, and I have never had an experience like I did today.
I came in regarding a product that was clearly defective. It took nearly 20 pumps before anything came out, and when it finally did, it came out watery. I also had a hairspray with a defective spray nozzle. I was simply trying to explain the issue and ask to speak with a manager.
What upset me most was that instead of de-escalating the situation, I was immediately told I was being disrespectful for asking to speak to a manager. I did not swear, raise my voice, call anyone names, or act aggressively. I spoke with a firm tone because I was frustrated, but I was not disrespectful.
After over 30 years of being a loyal customer, it was hurtful to feel dismissed rather than listened to. Sometimes customers just want to feel heard, especially when they have supported a business for so long
I hope this can be taken as constructive feedback, because this situation could have been handled with more understanding, empathy, and professionalism.
Michelle from SalonCentric reached out to me and I want to update my review. She took the time to listen to my concerns show me kindness, respect and Most of all empathy. Thank you, Michelle. I appreciate the time you took to listen and understand and I appreciate your time..

My favorite place to get stocked up on beauty supplies. All of the associates are wonderful, especially Stacey. They are knowledgeable and friendly. The sales are great, and the store is always clean and organized.

I go to salon centric with my hairdresser so I can pick the colors with my own eyes to know what I'm getting. This location is always helpful and very accommodating. They give good alternatives if a certain color is out of stock for a brand. And they have no problem calling another store to hold product if they are out. I've seen some 1 stars here complaining about how small the store is. They cant help that. It's in a strip mall and they do the best with the space they have. The least you could do is give 3 stars if that's your only complaint. The staff is helpful and ready to answer questions.

I would prefer to not shop at this Salon Centric. It’s a very small store and they do not carry everything like the store in Livonia. I live in Howell so I would prefer to go to Ann Arbor because that’s only 22 miles away, but it looks like I’ll be taking a drive to Livonia. When I worked in Plymouth, going to the Livonia store was easy, it was on my way to work. Now that I only work in Brighton, Ann Arbor is the closest. But, I need the A2 store to, enlarge and carry more products before I return.
Staff was friendly, no problems for me. When I did go, (1 time). In November 2017.
