Would give 10 stars if allowed. Whenever I come to Upper Marlboro I visit this Sephora. The associates are pleasant and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you!!

So I frequent this Sephora for a couple items every now and then. But my visit on 7.9.26 made me very uncomfortable. I was waiting for an associate to help me color match. Leah one if the associates saw me and still didn’t help. So with her being a woman of color (even though she’s light skinned) I’m like ima just ask her. You would’ve thought I was DRAGGING her to help me. Her attitude was stank. She didn’t offer any other help. I almost didn’t want her to swatch me cause her energy was so off. I get we have tough days but as someone who works part time in hospitality you shouldn’t make your customers feel what you’re feeling. But she was fine when talking to her coworkers. If I have to return, Leah won’t have to worry about me asking her help. & I hope her attitude doesn’t suck next time someone asks you to do your job.

This is by far the worst shopping experience I’ve ever had. This is a FULLY staffed store I saw at minimum 6-7 employees on the floor. Three of which were by the entrance. I walk in and not one person greets me. I walk past the group of employees and they are having a personal conversation. The conversation was long, loud, and very distracting. This store has limited products so I spent so much time trying to find items that they didn’t carry. Again there were at minimum six employees they I came in close proximity to no one asked to help for maybe like 35 mins. It’s was very obvious I was confused and I was searching. I had to use my app to look for previous products and shades. The store has poor service so I had step by the door to get a signal. The employees have devices that generate this information for them but no one asked to help me or even acknowledged I was there. Eventually, I asked a staff member can she help. She literally said “what’s up” to me. Unexpected she looked maybe 40+ and we are in a professional setting. I ask for a product she literally points to a section and sends me on my way. After I continue searching for products I inquire about a brand. She says “we don’t have that” so I look on the app and see this is something this location just doesn’t carry. However, is a product Sephora sells. I stand at the counter to check out. There are staff members all around chatting with each other or just standing about. This is a small location by the way. I look to the woman who said “what’s up” she’s standing to the right of the counter and said “hey can someone check me out”? She points a says”she’s coming” “she” took maybe 6 mins to come up after finishing her conversation with another staff member. She asked if anyone helped me I said “no” however, she proceeded to type in a name of an associate. I want to be clear the woman who spoke to me, never moved her feet, feet planted and pointed, and wasn’t eager to assist. There were many other shoppers in the store. No one was receiving help. No one was greeted in the hour I spent in the store. I watched women search for products in the same way I did, try to figure out color matches alone. This was the worst experiences. Most of the staff looked older 27+. So you’re not getting service from a bunch of super young inexperienced individuals who just want to work with their friends. I’ve been to young staffed locations as well. Polite, professional, great product knowledge, eager to assist. This isn’t a training issue this is a clean house and start fresh. This location is fully staffed with people who look like me (black) in my 30’s this could have been my best experience. However, those women are just there to collect a check. After spending $300 on 5/29/2026 at this location. As much as it pains me to write this review. And as much as I love the idea of having Sephora in my community. I do NOT recommend this location. I’d rather travel the distance or order online, if at all. Absolutely gross experience.

I visited this location recently, and while the staff is attentive, it quickly became overwhelming. Within 10 minutes, I was approached by six different employees asking if I needed help. I prefer to shop independently, and the constant pressure felt less like assistance and more like a hard sell. Additionally, some of the product recommendations felt more focused on making a sale than providing honest advice. My recommendation for future customers is to do your research beforehand, know exactly what you want, and take the staff's advice with a grain of salt.
