    Came in, will give a star for being greeted. Sephora reformulated their store foundations so I no longer knew my color and was between shades. I told the first associate I would browse and then get some help with color matching if I needed more assistance. After I found 2 shades that were within the ballpark, another associate asked if I needed help. I said yes I would like some help confirming which shade would work best for me right now. She told me the associate on the other side -not sure of her name but she has curly hair with what looks like emerald or forest green highlights (who was assisting someone else at the time with the same will pop over to assist). She relayed the message to the associate (who I could over hear basically talk herself out of assisting me) so I was passed off to another associate who was helping another woman with finding an everyday shade. The associate (green and black curly hair) then talks to me between the mirror asking me if Mari introduced her self to me? To which I had to say I’m sorry, who is Mari. Then she says she will be by soon. Few minutes later, I realize Mari is the one on the opposite side helping the other woman. She then comes over to me asking me what I needed help with, to which I had to reiterate that I am between shades and have 2 out and wanted to check which was the best. She proceeds to swatch only one on my face, hands me a brush and asks me to blend it (no discovery questions, no looking at my undertones nothing). She then asks me what did I use previously, I told her shade 61 but they reformulated so I don’t know. After trying the one color she says I think that looks good, grabs it from the shelf and rushes back to the other woman. I then try the other shade that I had and noticed that the warmth looked better on my skin. The other shade was also for medium-deep but cooler tones (I felt it looked a little ashy on me). Stayed behind, did a quick google search. Turned out the warmer one which she didn’t bother to try on e was the best way to go. I feel like Sephora needs to do a better job at teaching their associates discovery in helping a customer color match, and educating the customer on what to look for. Do not rush with one customer and dedicate time to the other. & definitely do not give off fake energy after you passed them off because you did not want to help them. At this point even though I’m 5m away, I’m willing to drive 20 extra minutes to another location if it means better customer service. The young lady with the green hair could be a bit more helpful.

    The people who work here are super nice. It was a refreshing experience compared to other sephoras Ive been to.

    I have 0% knowledge in makeup but Christy helped me out and went above and beyond with explaining each product to gift my Fiancé. Definitely recommend and will be back again.

    I’ve been to Sephora a handful of times and I usually don’t enjoy visiting the Rio Crown location because it doesn’t feel very welcoming. No one really speaks to you or offers help. I typically prefer going to the Pike & Rose or The Mall locations. However, today my daughters needed to run in and I decided to stop by despite my usual experience. I want to take a moment to acknowledge one of the sales associates, Ashley. After three other associates walked past us without engaging, Ashley came over, greeted us warmly, and made us feel welcome. Her kindness and personal attention really stood out and made our visit enjoyable. This isn’t meant as a complaint about the location overall, just a shout-out to Ashley for going above and beyond. Thank you for making our experience special.
