    It's the worst, even after making an appointment they made me wait for more than an hour without any apology. I had an urgent need for a haircut so I stuck around but will never return because the hair cut was below average.

    I had an upsetting experience today with a stylist named Coco at the Hair Cuttery on Cradlerock Way in Columbia. I arrived for a haircut with my hair down and unstyled, which I think is fairly typical when getting a haircut. My hair was clean, although I do have dandruff, which is something I've struggled with and am aware of. When I sat down, Coco's first words to me were, "What's going on with YOU? Why is your hair like this?" I was confused and uncomfortable but tried to move past it. When we went back to the shampoo area, she then told me, "I'm sorry, your hair is making me nauseous. I don't know why." I asked whether she was referring to my dandruff and whether that was a problem for her. She told me it wasn't dandruff but couldn't explain what she meant. When I told her that her comments were making me feel uncomfortable and shamed, she responded that she was uncomfortable too and later told me that I was "the one making this a big deal." At that point, I left without receiving a service. If a stylist has a legitimate concern about a client's scalp or hair, there are professional and respectful ways to address it. I have had dandruff commented on during hair appointments before and have never been treated this way. I found the interaction unnecessarily humiliating and unprofessional, and I will be taking my business elsewhere.
