  I came here with my mother to shop for skincare products, and Carlos was incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain which products would work best, what to avoid for different skin types, and why. He also helped my mom find some amazing makeup products that she absolutely loved. Because of Carlos, we'll be coming to this location instead of the Montgomery Mall store from now on. I don't even care that it's farther from my house--it's completely worth the extra drive. It's so refreshing to walk into a retail store and be met with such genuine kindness, patience, and outstanding customer service. Carlos made the entire experience enjoyable, and we left feeling confident about everything we purchased. He is a tremendous asset to the team!

  I have been a Sephora VIB member for a decade, on and off, and have very rarely returned or exchanged anything during that time. As someone who has worked in the service industry (albeit a lifetime ago), I do expect and understand how customer service is supposed to work, and am generally sympathetic to sales associates. Unfortunately, my recent experience in this Sephora location fell short of expectations. On a sunny Saturday, I decided to visit the Bethesda Sephora to return 2 items from an online order. There was no wait at checkout, but when I told the sales clerk that I wanted to return some items, she reacted with barely disguised repulsion. The entirety of her body language and attitude changed in 2 seconds-- from perky optimism to reluctance and extreme irritation. She did not smile or make eye contact once during the rest of this transaction. As you can imagine, this did not make me feel good on any level, and I was tempted to just storm out of this Sephora store... But I took the time to browse, and did find a promising mascara, which I bought without incident from a different sales clerk, a friendly and brisk young woman with glasses. However, the initial experience that I had left me with a poor impression of the Bethesda Sephora. Probably will not return anytime soon

  The store was very clean and welcoming. The staff was on top of any questions I had, especially Carlos, he was extremely helpful in finding everything I needed. 100% would recommend coming to this location!
