We’ve reimagined a better ear-piercing experience to help you get the look you want, stress-free.
We offer ear piercings with needles (never piercing guns!) for better precision, safety and healing, as well as a wide assortment of cute, high-quality piercing jewelry options at a range of prices.
We took our daughter here for ear piercing a little over a year ago. Because she has very sensitive skin and ears, we waited until her teen years to do it. At the time, the experience was excellent, including a follow-up visit last year for downsizing the jewelry.
Recently, my daughter tried removing the earrings but couldn’t. Both her father and I also tried without success, so I called the store earlier this week to ask two things: whether they could help remove them and whether we needed an appointment. The employee who answered initially said appointments were required for piercings, and I clarified that this was not a piercing appointment — we simply needed help removing the earrings without damaging them or hurting my daughter’s ears. She then confirmed we could walk in, and I even mentioned we would likely come by after school during the week.
The next day, we arrived around 6:30 p.m. and were greeted by the same employee from the phone call. She immediately asked my daughter’s age and whether she had ID. My daughter had accidentally left her wallet at home, and the employee informed us there was now a policy requiring ID for minors under 17. I again clarified that we only needed help removing the earrings and that I was present with my own ID. The employee was dismissive throughout the interaction, repeatedly looking down at her tablet while I explained that none of this had been mentioned on the phone. When I reminded her that I had clearly stated my daughter was a teen during our call, she simply ignored the comment and continued looking at the tablet in silence.
I eventually remembered I had my daughter’s school ID with me, which she reluctantly accepted. She handed me a QR code for the waiver and walked away. The piercer then came out, greeted my daughter, and took her to the back while I was still filling out the waiver.
Less than five minutes later, my daughter returned without the earrings. When I asked what happened, the piercer explained that she had asked my daughter several times if she wanted to keep them and, when she apparently did not respond clearly enough, the piercer discarded them. She then said, “It’s not a big deal.” These were $70 earrings purchased from this store!
I calmly explained that the earrings had significant value, and the response I received was essentially a shrug and, “I asked, sorry.”
What frustrated me most was not the policy itself, but the overall attitude and lack of common sense or customer care. They were extremely strict about verifying that my daughter was a minor, yet no effort was made to confirm with the parent before discarding expensive jewelry — especially since I was only steps away. It felt very dismissive, and ultimately we left without purchasing the additional earrings we had planned to buy and we will not be back.

I went to Studs in Cambridge recently and worked with Lily as my piercer. Lily was FANTASTIC. I got two advanced placement piercings (anti-tragus and rook) and had my lobes reopened and it barely hurt. Lily guided me through the whole process of checking anatomy, going over how my previous piercings have healed in the past, figuring out placement for the piercings, getting the piercings done, and proper aftercare. Lily even went over how long until my ears are completely healed and I would be cleared to get another piercing. I went in completely open regarding placement of any piercings to get, and let Lily check my ears and give me recommendations based on what worked with my anatomy. I am so glad I got to work with Lily and extremely happy with my new piercings.
