  Nichole Frost is the best stylist I have experienced in my long time in KS. She has been my primary stylist and has gotten to know my hair, the styles I like, and what looks good on me. Nichole helped me maintain with perms a soft fluffier look, my hair was a light brown (Blonde in my youth), and while somewhat fine..... there seemed to be a lot of it. 2024 my hair took a dramatic change. All the elements that I once loved were gone. Some chunks fell out, it became greasy, straight with many cow-licks fighting to live, very fine and very dark. Nichole gave me her skill and compassion and knowledge of my previous likes. She styled it in such a way as to cover empty spots and listened. (I snuck to another stylist and had most of it cut off. I felt like a cheater...... I think I was embarrassed this odd change had occurred.) As the short cut grew, I headed back to Nichole. She has been the lead on my team getting me back to liking my hair. She knows what I want in the immediate AND long-term and understands my weird descriptions even when I don't use logical words plus hand motions. She understands. She also continues to make me feel good about my hair. She is a skilled professional and a compassionate human being.

  I've been going to Michaela for about two years now. I'm so glad I found her. After moving to Kansas, I had a hard time finding somewhere that would be willing to cut my hair short and had the knowledge without giving me a weird bowl-cut. She listens to the ideas I have and brings me colors she thinks will look so good together and they always look so amazing! The cuts and color she puts in my hair always makes me feel so beautiful. She understands how my hair sets naturally and what colors will look best for me. I'm so thankful for finding her just when I was about to give up on taking care of my hair and just hoping for the best.

  I am writing this review as a warning for anyone considering going to the JCPenny salon located in the Manhattan Town Center mall. I recently went in for a service and the experience was terrible.The stylist that did my cut was named Mary. She is very unprofessional and damaged my hair. I requested to speak to the manager and was directed to speak to Morgan Trapp. She was even worse than Mary. Immediately upon contact she was defensive, rude and argumentative. She didn't even have the skills to fix the problem and assigned another stylist to try to fix my haircut. However, due to her nastiness she made a bad situation even more uncomfortable and tense.This is not they type of service that I was expecting from such a reputable salon. I am appalled that JC Penny would have someone like Ms. Trapp as the manager of one of their salons. She clearly does not have the skills and lacks the professionalism for the job. If I ever go back, I will make sure that I request a specific stylist. However, as long as Ms. Trapp is there as a manager, I will not go back. It is sad that she is the representative of the salon. Her demeanor, appearance and professionalism is unacceptable. I would expect a lot more from JCPenny.

  Michaela did a wonderful job when she did hair. She did a balayage and gave me a trim. I love it. I will continue to go back for her to do my hair.
