I have been a loyal Sephora customer for years, but I find the Beauty Insider rewards program increasingly disappointing and far less customer-friendly than those of many competitors.
I recently had an issue with Sephora’s rewards program after redeeming points for a reward and then wanting to change my selection. Initially, I was frustrated by what seemed to be an inflexible system regarding points redemptions.
However, I want to update my review because I contacted Sephora’s customer service phone line, and the experience was excellent. Ryan, the representative who assisted me, was professional, patient, understanding, and truly went above and beyond to help. He not only listened to my concerns but also resolved the issue by restoring my points so I could redeem the reward I actually wanted. He even took extra steps to make up for the inconvenience.
While I still believe Sephora could improve certain aspects of its rewards program, I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the customer service I received. Ryan turned a frustrating experience into a positive one and demonstrated the kind of customer care that builds loyalty and trust.

I had another bad experience at this Sephora location today (Monday around 5 PM), and honestly this was not the first time.
Right after checking out, I opened my product near the register and realized I accidentally grabbed the wrong shade. I immediately went back to exchange it because I did not want any misunderstanding. I even stayed near the front/register area and opened the new box in front of the employees just to make sure I would not grab the wrong shade again.
The cashier named Maya suddenly raised her voice at me and rudely said I was not allowed to open the product before paying. Once she said that, I immediately stopped.
Then another employee — blonde hair, curly/frizzy hair, no name tag — helped me grab another shade and told me “you good,” so I honestly thought everything was fine and that I could leave. A few moments later, she followed me all the way toward my car and rudely told me I still needed to exchange/pay. I was confused and said, “Why did you say I’m good? I thought I was good to go.” She responded very aggressively with “NO I DIDN’T.”
This location has given me bad experiences multiple times already. There was also another petite dark-skinned employee (also without a name tag) who was rude to me during a previous return. I bought an eyeliner, went home, opened it, and realized it was broken inside. When I came back and explained what happened, she looked at me with a judgmental expression and acted like she did not believe me. She even questioned whether I used it and tried to say it was not broken when it literally was broken inside.
The only employee who was consistently kind and professional was a Latina girl I think named Daisy.
Honestly, this Sephora location has made me feel uncomfortable and anxious every time I shop there now. Sephora used to be one of my favorite places to shop, and I go to Sephora at least 3 times a month, but now I feel nervous going to this location because of how I’ve been treated. Other Sephora locations have been perfectly fine, but unfortunately this one is closest to my home.
I really hope Sephora improves the customer service and professionalism at this location.

My visit today was Nordstrom’s in the early 2000’s levels of fantastic 💅🏽. My advisor was knowledgeable, listened and took a ton of time. I came in needing EVERYTHING for a trip and I left feeling so confident and excited for my trip! I walked out with everything I needed and more and the quality is always unbeatable. Highly recommend if you want to walk out with high end products you will use just more than once because they actually match your face and wear well. I suspect my advisor maybe took a little more time than her manager preferred but **THIS** is the service I miss so much and I would have maybe spent $50 instead of almost $300 if I would have gotten the new “normal” levels of customer service. Thank you Carmel, Sephora! You made me a very happy lady!
