  I have tried multiple colorists at the Vernon Hills salon. I have found most if not ALL their skill levels are, overall, subpar. I feel like I went to super cuts to get a balayage. Yesterday I walked out with the opposite of what I requested. The colorists don’t deliver and they def don’t have the elevated skill level one would expect. They do not listen to what you want. PLUS the manager today was really rude - making excuses for the subpar work- and did not acknowledge the debacle and low technical skills delivered.

  Sad to say I’ve been a client of many years. Mainly Vernon Hills. I went to several managers with an issue over keratin done poorly and hair loss as a result. The main Manager was never told by employees what had occurred and was surprised. Took forever as well for him to contact me. Pictures had been taken by an employee of the hair loss post shampoo. Said employee told me she felt I had breakage from application of the keratin…….. was told I had a credit and to return for a deep conditioning which I did today and a haircut. Today I showed said employee photos of my last two hair washes at home and what did she say “have you spoken to your Dr???!!!!” She was the stylist who told me I had breakage from poor application. Deerfield location a few years ago had issue with their keratin as well but no hair loss resulted. Even the blow dry and “flat iron” was poor today and didn’t hold. Moving on after many years elsewhere. Color by Mario about all I’ll speak to here. He’s great. Have had other operators there that are good- but sadly they lost a customer. Customer service an epic fail. And no manager there at 8 am when I arrived and they knew the issues I’ve had and didn’t prioritize that. Not ahead of the game at all.

  I absolutely love this salon and cannot recommend it enough! I have been coming here for highlights and haircuts many times, and every single experience has been amazing. I always leave feeling so happy with my hair and confident in how it looks.The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Everything feels very well-maintained and comfortable, which makes the entire experience so relaxing. The staff are also incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. From the moment I walk in, I always feel welcomed and taken care of. They go above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable, even offering drinks during my appointment, which is such a thoughtful little touch. One of my favorite things about coming here is how knowledgeable the staff are. They don’t just do your hair and send you on your way—they actually take the time to explain what they are doing, answer questions, and educate you about the products they recommend. I have learned so much about which products are best for my hair, why certain products are important, and how to properly take care of my hair between appointments. I really appreciate that they explain the purpose and benefits of products instead of making me feel like I’m simply being sold something.Whether I’m coming in for highlights, a haircut, or just advice on maintaining my hair, I always feel like I’m in good hands. The staff genuinely care about their clients and the health and appearance of their hair, and that really shows.I have been coming here for a while now and have consistently had great experiences. The combination of talented stylists, wonderful customer service, a beautiful and clean salon, and staff who genuinely take the time to educate and help their clients makes this one of my favorite places to get my hair done. I will definitely continue coming back and would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a place where you can feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that you’re getting great service! 10/10! 💕✨

  I had been going to Mario Tricocci for a while. Stylist was out sick so put me with someone else. She did not cut the hair short enough. Even my regular stylist has been leaving it longer and longer each time. I think Mario Tricocci is in financial trouble. The reason they leave it too long is so I have to come back sooner. I won’t go back again. I don’t think it is a legitimate business.

  I am very disappointed with my experience. I came in and asked for a trim - not any more than one inch off. The stylist told me I needed to have a little bit more off because the ends of my hair were damaged. I knew my hair was damaged, but I really like the length and I’ve been trying to grow it out more. I told her that I wanted to keep my length and that if her cutting more off would affect the length of my hair, I did not want it. She said, and I quote, “You will not be able to tell the difference.” She then proceeded to cut over 4 inches off my hair. Half of my hair has been cut off. My hair has not been this short in over half a decade so to see it like this was very upsetting. I’ve never had this problem with any of my other stylists and I’ve been to many different ones. This was my first time at Tricoci. I definitely won’t be coming back.
