Rowan is all about ears. We offer a fun, celebratory and safe piercing experience for everyone. All our piercings are done by licensed nurses and all our products are hypoallergenic. When we say “Piercing for All”, we mean it. Everybody is invited to this ear party.
Avoid the OakBrook, IL location. Walk-ins are not really welcome as their door sign says and we had a really bad experience, they were very rude !! And I have heard we’re not the only ones had a horrible experience at this specific location.

I’m so glad to have found Rowan! I brought my 4-month-old baby in for her lobe piercing and specifically requested Nurse Izzy because of the great reviews about her experience with babies—and they were absolutely right!
Nurse Izzy is truly an expert. She was so pleasant, gentle, and patient with my baby, and handled the whole experience with such grace. The process was quick and smooth, and she explained everything clearly, from what to expect during the piercing to the aftercare instructions.
I felt completely comfortable having my baby in her care. We had such a great experience and would definitely recommend Nurse Izzy and Rowan to other parents! ❤️

We took our 9 year old daughter this afternoon to get her ears pierced for the 1st time. Kyle was our nurse. If i could give 6 out of 5 stars I would. Kyle was very empathetic and gentle. He noticed she was scared and he helped with this. Very clean and professional place. All of the nurses there were amazing. I am very picky, and I loved this experience. Thank you Kyle, you are a star 💫

I’ve had several piercings done at Rowan in Oak Brook, and I’ve also brought my daughters here to have their ears pierced. I genuinely love Rowan as a company and really appreciate what they stand for. I’ve always had a positive experience with the staff, and I love that they make ear piercing feel like a special experience.
That being said, I’m unfortunately disappointed with the jewelry and the process when it comes to earrings becoming lost. I’ve had to purchase multiple replacement earrings because they have somehow fallen out after being put in by the staff. I understand that jewelry can occasionally come loose, but when an earring falls out because of an issue with how it was secured or inserted, it becomes extremely frustrating to have to continuously purchase expensive replacements.
What I find most disappointing is that there doesn’t seem to be a good system in place to help customers when jewelry is lost under these circumstances. After investing in multiple piercings and jewelry from Rowan, I would expect there to be some type of replacement policy or customer-care solution when an earring is lost due to the piercing or installation process.
I really do love Rowan and want to continue supporting the company, which is why I hope they consider improving their policy in this area. I think having a better system for replacing jewelry that is lost shortly after a piercing would make the overall customer experience so much better.

I want to say first that I believe this shop is great for some, I wish my experience had been better, and I believe there is room for improvement. My 6yo went in for her appointment this past weekend, the front desk was kind enough to move our appointment time up since we got there early. We walked around the mall for a bit while we waited and let our girl burn off some nervous energy. When it was time for our appointment, I asked the question about the difference between using the needle and the device. Our piercer explained the differences but then mentioned to me that my daughter's ear lobes were "too thick" for the device. I originally booked the needle option for the flat backings of the jewelry but was having second thoughts at the time of the appointment. Her statement about the "thickness" of my child's ear lobes made it seem like we only had the option of the needle. Before our piercer started, she mentioned to me that they would give my daughter three opportunities to sit still for the piercing, but after the third failed attempt at sitting still we would need to reschedule. Our daughter was able to sit through the first piercing but unfortunately became very distraught and upset with the pain she experienced. She was not able to sit through the second one. She asked about using the device on the second ear, but our piercer never gave her that option. Instead, her only option was to schedule her to come back on a different day to do the other ear. In total, we spent $157 on one ear piercing. $35 for the piercing, $68 for one earring, and $20 on a cleaning solution and then a tip.
I feel as though our piercer was unempathetic and cold, maybe that's her demeanor but she made zero attempt at making my child feel comfortable. I will give her credit on giving us time to work it out with our child to see if she could push through the second piercing. But again, I feel our piercer is probably great with older kids (12+) and adults, not so much with young children.
We did end up taking my daughter to a different shop closer to home that same day. One where there was no piercing fee, they didn't charge me for the cleaning solution, we got both earrings for $67 (not just one), and they were able to use the device on her second ear. This piercer told me her lobes were definitely "not too thick" for the device and made the whole experience so much better for my daughter. She was empathetic and understanding of the fear my 6yo was in after the first piercing earlier in the day. She turned the whole day, and experience, around for all of us.
All-in-all I do feel the statement "you get what you pay for" did not apply to this shop, which is sad because I was recommended to take our daughter here. My word of advice is if they try pushing the needle agenda on you because "your lobes are too thick", I recommend getting a second opinion. I don't know if there is a fee associated with using the device, but it's $35 per ear with the needle and I really feel like that is why we were pushed that route. A lesson learned and we most definitely will not be back.
