If you’re looking for someone who truly loves what they do and delivers exceptional results, book with Colette, you won’t regret it. From the moment I sat in her chair, she created such a luxurious, relaxing, and welcoming experience. She made me feel completely pampered while taking the time to understand exactly what I wanted.
I came in for a gloss treatment, and I am beyond impressed with the results. My hair has never looked this healthy, glossy, vibrant, and silky. The shine is absolutely incredible, the color looks so rich and refreshed, and the overall transformation is phenomenal. I honestly can’t stop looking at my hair!
Colette is incredibly talented, detail-oriented, and truly gifted at what she does. Her knowledge, precision, and passion for her craft shine through in every step of the appointment. It’s rare to find someone who combines such amazing technical skill with such a warm, genuine personality, but Colette does exactly that.
If you’re considering booking with her, do it. She exceeded every expectation I had, and I left feeling more confident than ever. Thank you, Colette, for your incredible work and for creating such a luxurious, five-star experience. I can’t wait to come back!

I cannot recommend Colette enough! She is truly talented at what she does. What sets her apart is how well she listens—she takes the time to understand exactly what I’m looking for and consistently captures the perfect tones that complement my features. On top of her incredible skill, she is always efficient and respectful of my time. If you’re looking for someone who delivers beautiful, precise color in a timely fashion, Colette is the person to see!
I cannot recommend my colorist Colette enough! I came in needing a major color correction from black hair to a beautiful, vibrant red, and Colette exceeded every expectation. She took her time through every step of the process, carefully bleaching in stages, constantly checking on my hair and making sure everything was lifting evenly and safely.
When it came time to apply the red, Colettw was incredibly thorough and meticulous. The final result is stunning, rich, vibrant, and perfectly even from root to end. There are no streaks, no patchiness, and the color looks so natural and seamless. You can truly tell Colette cares about her work and the health of her clients hair. Colettes attention to detail, patience, and expertise made all the difference. I'm absolutely in love with my new red hair and will definitely be coming back!!!!
Cut and style----
I originally came to Tricoci based on good reviews that I read right here.
The stylist that was highly recommended was "Jules"
She did not disappoint.
I know it can take a little bit of time to come to an understanding with your stylist, and for them to get to know your hair.
My very first cut was amazing - and as it grew out, every step of the way, it still looked fabulous!
Now I have been to Jules several times. She is an absolute artiste. She takes her time to sculpt and perfect the style of my hair.
**Sometimes you don't want to write such a high review, cuz now she'll probably get really busy LOL
But I will continue to return to her and will plan to book ahead.
I am not someone who typically leaves reviews, but this experience was so upsetting that I feel others should be aware of it. If I could give ZERO stars, I would.
On May 16, I arrived at Mario Tricoci in Naperville for a 10:30 scheduled hair color appointment. After consulting with the colorist and discussing a partial highlight and root touch-up, everything appeared normal. The colorist clipped my hair up and left to prepare the color.
A few moments later, the General Manager approached me and informed me that the colorist had found "several open scabs/open wounds" on my scalp and therefore could not perform the service. I was shocked and confused. The colorist NEVER returned to speak with me directly, explain her concerns, or ask me any questions. The General Manager did not examine my scalp herself, and when I asked to be shown the alleged areas of concern, my request was ignored.
I have neurofibromatosis, a medical condition that causes neurofibromas on my skin and scalp. They are NOT open wounds, they are NOT contagious, and they have NEVER prevented me from receiving salon services in the past. Had anyone taken a moment to ask a simple question rather than make assumptions, this entire situation could have been handled professionally and respectfully.
Instead, I was left feeling embarrassed, confused, and humiliated in front of other clients. Despite repeatedly asking for clarification, I received no meaningful explanation beyond, "I'm sorry." I left the salon in tears and sat in my car crying for nearly 30 minutes because of how dismissed and degraded I felt.
The issue is not simply that service was declined. The issue is how it was handled. No one asked questions, sought clarification, or attempted to handle the matter privately and respectfully. Assumptions were made based solely on my appearance, leaving me feeling discriminated against because of a visible medical condition.
What made this even more upsetting is that later that same day I received the exact color service at another professional salon without hesitation or issue. I specifically asked that stylist whether my neurofibromas posed any concern, and I was told they did not. The stylist was shocked at how I was treated and how unprofessional they were.
The beauty industry is supposed to help people feel confident, comfortable, and cared for. Instead, I left feeling judged, humiliated, and treated as though there was something wrong with me. No client should ever walk into a salon hoping to feel better about themselves and leave feeling embarrassed because assumptions were made about a medical condition.
I hope this incident is taken seriously and that staff receive additional training on how to handle situations involving visible medical conditions that are harmless with professionalism, compassion, discretion, and respect. Due to this experience, I will not be returning and will continue to let people know about my experience.
