I went to this spa on a girl's trip, the first time ever being on a trip away from my baby. I booked a massage at a price point of over $300 when tip is included. I've been to many a spa at various price points. This experience was the most bizarre and not relaxing spa experience I've ever had because they allow children into the spa. I love kids, I have a small child, and before that, worked with kids for a long time; I believe they have every right to exist in the world just like adults and we are not entitled to a child free world, but a spa is where I draw the line. I paid several hundred dollars to have a relaxing child free day/break. Instead I got kids splashing and throwing a football in the pool and getting my robe wet. In the locker room there were wet swim trunks on the floor, backpacks everywhere, iPads blasting, kids fighting with each other, moms disciplining their children, toys falling out of lockers. Staff saw and did nothing. I felt weird changing in front of the small children, and even if I didn't, there was nowhere for me to put my things as the entire bench and floor space were taken over. It was so weird. I support being a family friendly resort, but even family resorts need adult only spaces, and the spa should definitely be that space as it's meant to be for quiet, peace, and relaxation. We complained and got a small discount which we appreciated, but with the discount I paid $250 for just a massage because the amenities were essentially not available to us, we did not get to relax, and we left the spa more stressed than when we arrived. This is not the experience I would expect at this price point and at a Four Seasons no less. Had they told us this information at the time of booking, we would have booked elsewhere. The only reason for two stars is the massage was good and the facilities were pretty. If you want a spa day, go to the Langham or elsewhere. This is not a luxury or even mediocre spa experience, and most certainly not worth the high price point.

This is really a 3.5. The services and staff of the spa itself were pretty good. (Besides one of us getting some gnarly bruising from the deep tissue massage.) This isn’t really a reflection on them at all. I booked a spa day for two with services in the morning and afternoon, with poolside lunch in between. This wasn’t the place to do that, at all. ALL of the spa amenities are open to hotel guest, including children. The pool and hot tub will be loud and full of kids. Children and families also use the locker room, showers, steam room, and sauna. People take phone calls in the pool foyer, which is one of the only places to sit down outside of the pool itself. There really isn’t anywhere to sit or lay to relax, besides the relaxation room they take you to before or after non-nail treatments. But even then, there are just chairs, no place to put your feet up. It’s not comfortable. A staff member was kind enough to take me to this room after I asked if there was anywhere at all quiet to sit and read. Lunch poolside was pretty bad. They didn’t tell us that you can’t order until 12pm and then it will take an hour to arrive. Since they let me book a service at 1pm, thinking I would be eating at noon, a staff member had to go above and beyond to contact room service about getting our order in early to arrive on time. Lunch for two was $120, including all the service and delivery fees. We had two extremely mediocre poke bowls and an overpriced fruit salad with unwashed berries that looked like it was picked up from the Whole Foods salad bar. Both menu item descriptions didn’t match the food we actually got, like no mint on the fruit, barely any crispy onions on the bowls. It was honestly really disappointing to spend that much money and have food we could have made at home better and for cheaper. We drank the free fruit water out of cardboard cups with our meal. We honestly just felt awkward all day. It’s like they don’t want you to actually relax and spend time there. This is really a spa you go to if you’re already staying on the property. I’d say go for a service but there are so many better spas in Chicago with great services and amenities you can actually enjoy.

Top notch. Impeccable service, friendly staff and a wonderful massage! They even remembered our anniversary and I'm not sure how they knew? Great stuff!
