  I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at the Sephora inside Kohl’s in Chicago Ridge was extremely disappointing. I came in planning to spend around $1,000 on birthday gift cards and makeup/skincare products for myself. The associate who helped me on the sales floor was very kind, but my experience at the register with Alisa completely changed my impression. I asked to load $300 onto a gift card, and she simply told me I couldn’t without explaining why. When I politely asked her to check, I noticed the gift card itself clearly stated it could be loaded with $25–$250. I pointed it out, asked her to try $250, and it worked immediately. Instead of acknowledging it, she rolled her eyes and acted as if I was bothering her the entire time. Her attitude was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She looked annoyed from the moment I approached, argued with me when I quietly told her she had an attitude, and even admitted, “Yeah, because you pissed me off.” That is not an acceptable way to speak to a customer. To make matters worse, when I asked for a bag for the gift cards, she acted irritated and dismissive. After I left, I called the store because I didn’t have time to stay and ask for a manager in person. I spoke with someone named Isabella, although I’m not sure if she was the manager or another employee. I’m leaving this review so upper management is aware of what happened and can address it appropriately. If management has any questions, I encourage them to review the security camera footage from that time. It will clearly show the interaction, including her body language and the way she treated me throughout the transaction. I walked in excited to shop and left frustrated because of one employee’s behavior. I’ll gladly drive to another Sephora location in the future rather than return to this one. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so no other customer has a similar experience.

  I visited the Sephora in Kohls at Chicago Ridge Mall. This is my usual store that i shop at and the workers there are usually really good, however, when i visited Sephora last week, the girl who helped me really didn't seem too knowledgable. I asked if they carried MAC's Lip Erase and she kind of hesitated and seemed to be thinking and then said she wasn't sure and told me they just started carrying MAC and so their inventory is extremely limited right now. I couldn't help but think that judging from her reaction, she had no idea what Mac's Lip Erase was. Which is completely understandable, i do not expect them to know every single makeup item. I took it upon myself to check the Mac display to see if they carried it yet (they did not). After a little more browsing, I approached her once again and told her I was looking for a concealer that i could not remember the name of but i told her i knew it was called "Boing" or something similar. She had no clue what i was talking about (once again) and told me if i visited another Sephora i would more than likely find what i was looking for, as standalone stores have way more of a selection. I ended up finding the concealer on my own (It's Benefit's Boing Professional Concealer- they didn't carry that either). It was later in the day, about 8pm and i believe the store was going to close at 9pm so i wasn't shopping at the last minute or while they were trying to close, however, i couldn't help but feel like she was trying to get rid of me or i was pulling her away from something she wanted to get back to. After approximately 30 minutes in the store, I was about to leave when i remembered that I needed blush and, once again, my menopausal brain could not -FOR THE LIFE OF ME- remember the name of the blush or who made it. So i went up to her, again, (don't judge me) apologized for bothering her so much, and tried to explain the blush i was looking for. It actually comes in a box or box-like packaging and is a highly purchased line but i couldn't remember the brand/name. She didn't even pretend to try and help me figure it out, she just immediately turned around, grabbed the first blush she saw, and asked if that was it. I tried to explain to her that it comes in an actual box, a small square box, but she went on to say "hmmm....maybe you should check our website, there are a ton more products on there. I think you will have an easier time finding what you're looking for, or go to a different Sephora that is a stand alone store".... Basically, my review is just to communicate that I think Sephora would benefit greatly to hire employees that are familiar with trendy , popular products. It was obvious this girl had no idea about anything. And for the cherry on the top: I told her I needed a large fluffly face brush for applying my setting powder. I asked for whichever brush is her most best - selling, highest rated, face brush. She handed me a blush brush.

  Unprofessional, rude and disrespectful employees Sephora, you can do better! On the over side, what else would I expect from a location like that..

  Heads up beauties! If you order online you CAN NOT return at this store because it is inside Kohls and not independent on its own. (Huge disappointment, I was just told today.) Other than that, nice location. The few times I’ve stopped by the shelves have been stocked and clean. There was a pretty good variety today and a lot of different sets were available in store.
