  Review of appointment on 30 August 2026 I don’t normally write reviews, but I wanted to share our experience at the Valdosta JCPenney Salon. My teenage daughter originally booked a silk press and bang trim with Samantha for 31 July at 10 a.m. Weeks later, Samantha rescheduled us for Thursday, 30 July at 1 p.m. due to a personal obligation. We arrived on time, but Samantha was not there. I was not on the schedule (although I had previously asked Samantha to add me), so Rose kindly took care of me. Rose was exceptional—professional, thorough, and clearly skilled in hair care. While Rose shampooed, deep conditioned, and styled my hair with care, my daughter waited an hour for Samantha to arrive. Before starting, Samantha suggested a keratin treatment for my daughter’s virgin hair, saying it was not a chemical process and would cost the same. She also mentioned not having the right products for a good silk press. I declined and requested the silk press we originally booked. The difference in service was obvious. Rose took her time, explained what she was doing, and left my naturally curly hair silky, polished, and beautifully straight. Samantha, however, worked through larger sections on my daughter’s hair, and the final result looked more like a blowout than a silk press. When we checked out, Samantha charged the original price despite the late start and rushed result. After I asked whether a discount was appropriate, she reduced the price by about $20. My issue is not Samantha’s personal obligation—I understand that. My concern is the poor communication, delayed appointment, and uneven level of service. Rose provided outstanding care and results, while my daughter’s appointment with Samantha felt rushed and incomplete. Future clients should know that the quality of service may depend heavily on who they are booked with. Rating: Rose -- Five Stars Samantha -- Two Stars

  The ABSOLUTE WORST experience I've ever had in a salon.... one person working, she kept having to wash and dry towels, sit down and rest, left me with conditioner in my hair, leaned back in the sink, for a while ( long enough my arms were going numb) as she SAT... I was there for a little over two hours for a wash and cut... Mind you I was the only customer in the entire place... very inexperienced styler.. JACKED my hair up royally... showed her what I wanted, reverse bob w/ stack in the back... got a 1970's Football helmet looking cut, had her redo it, she could not put layers in what so ever... my hair is very blocky looking, the layers don't blend... hair ended up being shorter than what i wanted, Now I have to go somewhere else to have it fixed... Called JC Penney Salon, the manger is out for a week, they offered for me to come in and have it fixed for free but that's TOTALLY NOT GONNA HAPPEN.... I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK... NOT HAPPY, NOT SATISFIED EX-CUSTOMER I wouldn't even give it 1 start but you can't post without it
