What is the aftercare for Botox?
First 4-6 hours
Remain upright - Do not lie down or bend over excessively.
Do not touch or rub the treatment site - This prevents Botox from migrating to surrounding muscles.
Avoid exercise - Strenuous activity increases blood flow, which may affect product placement.
First 24 hours
Refrain from alcohol consumption - This minimizes the risk of bruising.
Avoid facials, massages, or pressure on treated areas - This includes chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and facial massage.
Limit heat exposure - Do not use saunas, hot tubs, or take very hot showers.
Use gentle skincare only - Cleanse your face lightly and avoid harsh formulations.
First 1-2 days
Apply makeup carefully - If needed, apply gently without rubbing the area.
Mild swelling or redness is expected - You may apply ice lightly if needed, but do not apply pressure.
First week
Allow time for results to develop - Initial effects appear within 3-5 days, with full results visible around 10-14 days.
Postpone additional treatments - Do not schedule other cosmetic procedures in the same area unless approved by your provider.
Contact your provider if you experience:
Drooping eyelid or asymmetrical smile
Severe pain, swelling, or signs of infection
Vision changes or difficulty swallowing (uncommon but serious)
