I scheduled an appointment for a full foil consultation and service. After assessing my hair, David recommended trimming my layers to address split ends and dry hair which I agreed to. Because my hair had previously been dyed brown, I expected a subtle result—lighter brown or dark caramel highlights blended into my existing color—not the overly blonde and brassy outcome I received.
After completing the foils and toner, David proceeded with what was intended to be a blowout. However, my roots remained visibly wet, and he attempted to curl my hair before it was even fully dried. At no point did he ask how I wanted my hair styled, which left the impression that the styling process was an afterthought.
Throughout the appointment, I was positioned away from the mirror and was unable to see the progress of the color once blow drying. When I was finally turned around, I immediately expressed that the result was not what I had requested. The color was significantly lighter than expected, with obvious orange and blonde tones concentrated at the top of my head.
Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, David instructed me to pull up the inspiration photo I had shown him before the service began. Once I presented the photo again, he had no explanation for the dramatic difference between my requested result and the outcome. When I suggested that a darker toner was needed to correct the color, he responded with an attitude and claimed that I had never communicated that preference—despite the inspiration photo clearly reflecting a much darker, blended result.
Equally disappointing was the haircut. The ends were cut so aggressively that the bottom of my hair was left noticeably thin and uneven, limiting any realistic opportunity for correction without sacrificing even more length.
In an effort to salvage the situation, I contacted the salon and returned for a correction. The assistant manager did the best she could with the condition my hair had been left in, and I appreciate her efforts. Unfortunately, the original service fell far below professional standards in terms of consultation, communication, execution, and customer care.
I left the salon with hair that looked nothing like what I requested and with damage that cannot be easily undone. For the price of the service and the level of expertise advertised, the experience was extremely disappointing.
