I’ve been a fairly consistent customer at this Great Clips location since it’s so close to my home, but I had a VERY disappointing experience during my visit about a week ago. I went in explaining that my hair was quite flat and long since I hadn’t had a cut in almost five months. I specifically mentioned I didn’t want to lose much length. The stylist, I believe her name is Stacey, told me I didn’t need much taken off, but ended up cutting significantly more than expected and added layers throughout my hair. I’m okay with long layers, but this was FAR beyond what I would have chosen. My hair was previously below my chest, and now the shortest layers are around my collarbone!!! I was not properly consulted on how much would be cut or how the layers would be done, and it felt very rushed. I did receive a refund, which I do appreciate, and I didn’t want anything further cut at that point since I was trying to avoid losing more length. However, I’m now left needing months of growth to get back to where I was. Because of the way my hair was cut, I honestly feel embarrassed and like I have to constantly wear my hair up. It has also made my daily routine harder since I now have to spend more time styling it every morning. It does not lay straight the way it used to because the layers are so choppy and uneven, which makes it difficult to manage and style. This experience is especially frustrating as I have a bachelorette trip next week and a wedding soon where I am a bridesmaid, and I feel very self-conscious about my hair now. I do want to note that I’ve had good experiences with several stylists here in the past, including one gentleman who does a great job an another one, maybe Alyssa? Unfortunately, this particular visit was very upsetting and felt like there was a lack of communication and consultation before such a major change was made. I hope going forward there is more emphasis on asking detailed questions and confirming expectations before cutting, especially when it comes to significant changes in length and layers.

When is Online Check-In available?
Online Check-In becomes available five minutes after the salon opens. We accept Online Check-Ins up to the point where the estimated wait time is as long as the salon will remain open, or 30 minutes before closing time at the latest.

Online Check-In can be used for all services except perms and formal updos. Please note that not all salons offer perms. Most salons require an appointment for these services, so please call your local Great Clips salon to inquire.
Can I request a stylist using Online Check-In?
No. For the stylist’s safety, we do not publish their schedules or allow customers to request them using Online Check-In. Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
Do Great Clips salons sell haircare products?
