  Hydra-Bar Salon always gets me right. Rhonda is a queen and she really knows what she’s doing. I always walk away feeling like the investment in myself was worth it cause they always leave my curls looking hydrated and healthy. I’m so grateful I found this salon.

  Rhonda is amazing! I’ve been going to her for over a long year now, and my curls are 1000 times healthier and better than when I first started. She was the only person I trusted to do my big chop—I originally didn’t want anyone touching my hair, and I refused to do it until I met her. I’m so glad I finally gave in and trusted her process because it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my hair. Her products truly work, and you can tell how much care and expertise she puts into everything she does. On top of that, the entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Thank you, Hydra Bar and Rhonda, for everything you’ve done for my hair journey!

  I first visited Hydrobar Salon back in 2022 and had great experiences with a couple of the stylists on two separate occasions. Because of those experiences, I decided to return this year and booked with the owner for the first time, assuming I would receive an even higher level of care and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not the case. During my appointment in March, my hair was handled extremely roughly, even after several times of asking to comb it myself, to the point that it caused noticeable breakage and stress to my hair (several visible strands of hair in the sink and on the floor). Since that appointment, my hair has been breaking — not shedding — consistently. I’ve invested in strengthening treatments like K18 and other restorative products in an attempt to repair the damage, but I’ve seen very minimal improvement so far. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I reached out to the owner to explain what had been happening and seek some type of resolution, I felt completely dismissed. At one point, she even acknowledged that my hair “didn’t look like that before” she serviced it, yet still refused to take accountability or offer any meaningful resolution. After asking for follow-up support, I never heard back from her. As a business owner myself — and someone who genuinely tries to support Black-owned businesses whenever possible — accountability and customer care matter deeply to me. Mistakes can happen in any business, but how those situations are handled says everything. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend a business where customer concerns are dismissed rather than addressed professionally and responsibly.

  I wish I would’ve come to this place sooner. I was writing them on Instagram and never came to get my hair done now that I’ve come I will never stop. I’ve always wanted to wear my natural hair daily. This is it.
