  I came in for a pre-birthday treat and left feeling absolutely beautiful — and I cannot say enough about this experience! The owner is not only incredibly talented, but she is passionate about her craft in a way you can genuinely feel. She used her own product, Nurture, and my hair felt nourished and transformed from the inside out. When someone creates something with real intention, the results speak for themselves — and Nurture does exactly that. Thank you for the skill, the care, and the love you pour into everything you do. If you’re looking for a place that treats your hair AND your spirit well, Hydra Bar is it. I’ll definitely be back!

  I absolutely love Hydra Bar Salon! Every visit is an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff is professional, welcoming, and truly knowledgeable about natural hair care. They take the time to understand my hair needs and always leave my curls looking healthy, defined, and full of life. My curls be POPPING every single time I leave the salon!   I first visited Hydrobar Salon back in 2022 and had great experiences with a couple of the stylists on two separate occasions. Because of those experiences, I decided to return this year and booked with the owner for the first time, assuming I would receive an even higher level of care and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not the case. During my appointment in March, my hair was handled extremely roughly, even after several times of asking to comb it myself, to the point that it caused noticeable breakage and stress to my hair (several visible strands of hair in the sink and on the floor). Since that appointment, my hair has been breaking — not shedding — consistently. I’ve invested in strengthening treatments like K18 and other restorative products in an attempt to repair the damage, but I’ve seen very minimal improvement so far. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I reached out to the owner to explain what had been happening and seek some type of resolution, I felt completely dismissed. At one point, she even acknowledged that my hair “didn’t look like that before” she serviced it, yet still refused to take accountability or offer any meaningful resolution. After asking for follow-up support, I never heard back from her. As a business owner myself — and someone who genuinely tries to support Black-owned businesses whenever possible — accountability and customer care matter deeply to me. Mistakes can happen in any business, but how those situations are handled says everything. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend a business where customer concerns are dismissed rather than addressed professionally and responsibly.
