  I have done facial, massage and waxing at this place. All great sessions, never a complaint I even bought products off the shelves my first facial there. I gave 1 star because I am very disappointed with the way I was treated this last visit by JOHN at the front desk. No one wants to go to a spa and be met with frustration. He yelled at me about not coming early enough for parking. My appt was 2:15 and I arrived 2:10 and circled the avenue twice looking for parking. I came in around 2:17 because I parked in the hotel parking lot to come in talk to them to ensure my appt wouldn’t be canceled while I find parking. He ask me , “WHY DIDNT YOU PLAN FOR THE PARKING?” how the heck can I plan for parking? I asked if I should have arrived 5am because that’s the only time I could think of that I would be sure to get parking. You guys have a spa that is in a hotel but the spa guests can’t use the parking space.. Maybe that’s what you need to worry about Mr John or use that loud mouth of yours to push for a parking area for spa guests. 1other time I came and couldn’t find parking and the receptionist arranged for me to park in the hotel parking lot. I did not know that was a 1 time situation, but thanks to BIG J’s scolding, I now know. It was strange telling a grown man not to speak to me that way and stop attacking me as if he knew me personally. His response was, ‘Well you don’t know me either.’ Bruh, well that’s my point. I am a customer to you spending hundreds of dollars each time I came there or bring my relatives there. Don’t treat me like an enemy you have a vendetta against.

  I arrived a bit early and was led to the meditation room (waiting room) where I had spearmint tea, filled out my intake paperwork and enjoyed the relaxing vibe. I am a licensed massage therapist that has practiced medical and spa massage for 18 years. Because of that I tend to be critical of my massages / therapists. Lauren gave an amazing massage, she is new to this particular spa but knew the protocol very well and had a very welcoming presence. We discussed my main issues (including medical issues) and she was able to accommodate and adapt her protocol to those. I had the Nirvana massage with ginger root oil. This massage seems to be a mix between Swedish, Lomi Lomi and some passive stretching. I appreciated the hot towels throughout the massage. I added on the Ayurvedic scalp massage which was done first. Not to be confused with your typical “scritchy” scalp massage. It’s very gentle and focuses energy points and hair follicle stimulation. I have a hard time turning off my “massage critique” but Lauren did such a great job I was able to fully let go and enter the lovely state where your parasympathetic system is activated and you are in floaty / almost asleep state. I shopped around in the store afterwards and found some really unique gifts (perfumes / colognes) and high quality products you don’t see at Sephora, but they had healthier ingredients and were similar or slightly less expensive than Sephora. For example, I use a BHA, AHA for daily exfoliating, and they had a similar formula for about $10 less and it was 2 more oz than the Sephora brand. They also have THC/CBD/CBN products. The folks at the main desk/ register were helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a blissful experience.

  My wife and I have been coming to the Avenue Apothecary & Spa for more than 20 years, and it has never disappointed. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and professional, and every massage or treatment we’ve had over the years has been outstanding. We’ve never had anything less than a wonderful experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing, top-notch spa in Rehoboth Beach, we highly recommend giving them a try.

  I booked a 60 minute regular facial there . The Esthetician added on a bunch of upgrades I was not made aware of . They ended up charging me an extra $80 on top of the $160 facial I booked I spoke to the owner / manager but she said there was nothing she could do Be very careful when you book a facial there because they definitely add things on I will not be returning
