I had an amazing weekend up at Monarch thanks to Zeshan! He made it wonderful! I had a problem with my playing card and he was right there to help me fix it! He also helped me book this amazing trip and I couldn't be happier! The room was amazing and very clean! Everything is so up to date as well with all the technology.! The buffet is always a go to! Really good food and could never go wrong with the buffet! The restaurant as well Twenty Four 7 has amazing food.! And big portions! I will deffinalty come back for more stays and most deffinalty will be back to gamble.! This is most certainly my number one hotel in Blackhawk! Also the views from the pool and the hot tub where amazing.! I couldn't ask for a more peaceful weekend!

Visited the spa last week and had a massage that was definitely on the pricey side, which I expected for a place like this. That said, I am giving it 2 stars because the overall experience did not match the premium cost. The amenities themselves were nice and the massage was good, but the space was extremely crowded. Every time we tried to use the sauna, it was packed. The hot tub area had no available chairs to set belongings, and the locker room felt very cramped, with everyone squeezed in trying to get dressed. I also had to wait about 15 minutes just to get access to a shower. Then, when checking out, it took an additional 20 minutes of standing in line just to pay, which added to the frustration. For the price point, I would expect a more relaxed and spacious experience. Standing in line and competing for space takes away from what should feel like a luxury visit.

Birthday weekend, spent $570. On a suite for 4 people. I spent almost $600 for this room on my birthday and there was no indication of a valet, no room service after 10, the shower faucet was broken, the wall hung soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers were broken off the wall and replaced by 2 little bottles, in a room for 4 people. The bathroom doors had no way to lock, the bathroom exhaust fan was broken so we smelled everything, the toilet paper was 1 ply. The curtain buttons were broken as well. The complimentary kitchen closed way too early, so we had to spend another hundred dollars on the buffet PER PERSON. In the morning, the so-called continental breakfast had no meat. Other than salmon and watery eggs. Over all very disappointing for how much I paid.

My recent stay at this property was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this wasn’t just a place to sleep, but a fully integrated destination designed for comfort and high-energy fun. The hotel itself is impeccably well-appointed, striking a perfect balance between modern sophistication and welcoming warmth. The Atmosphere and Amenities The integration of the attached casino is seamless. It provides an immediate sense of excitement without overshadowing the tranquil, upscale feel of the hotel lobby. Whether you’re looking to try your luck at the tables or simply enjoy the people-watching, the transition from the quiet luxury of the guest floors to the vibrant energy of the gaming floor is effortless. The Soundtrack: One of the most underrated aspects of the stay was the music. The curated playlists throughout the public spaces were upbeat yet sophisticated, perfectly complementing the "great-night-out" atmosphere. The Vibe: The staff managed to keep the energy high while maintaining a professional, attentive level of service that made the experience feel truly premium.

This is a review of the spa only. As someone who works in the wellness space, working closely with sauna and steam room builds all around the US, I must say Monarch needs to sue whoever built this spa for them. Steam rooms with cove ceilings and low seating (ever heard of hot air rises?) and regular water features within the room, dissipating steam. One person can sit on the higher bench because it’s just one seat, the rest will need to stand on the low bench to even feel anything other than cold. A steam shower with no bench to sit down on, with a door that doesn’t even go to the ceiling to keep steam in the room, too tall of ceilings (again, ever heard of hot air rises?), linear steam head sticking out from the wall (burn warning!) and the ceiling wasn’t even tiled (heard of mold?). Two “saunas” but neither are actually that. I doubt either room was above 130, how could anyone break a sweat in either and actually get the benefits? The “wet sauna” (all real saunas would be considered “wet”) features a very interesting concept with how the stones are dipped in water, but the stones are only exposed during this “ceremony” so the room is never actually a sauna besides when that happens. The ceremony plays some music while it goes and comically stops suddenly as soon as the rocks are returned to their enclosure. Hard not to laugh at that. The other “hot room” is a place you could wear a robe into and still not even sweat. I mean what is the goal here? The experiential shower was a big nothing (snow shower wasn’t working). How can one even do any kind of contrast therapy and enjoy the features of this shower if there is nowhere to warm up beside a lukewarm hot tub? The hot tub has a huge pillar with a fountain blocking the views of the mountain. Seems like this could have easily been reversed. Again, sue whoever planned and built this. The outdoor hot tub is a better option when there isn’t a whole fraternity in it. I’d love to help the team here figure out all of the things wrong with the amenities in comparison to high end spas around the US. But really, it just comes down to the basics. Saunas and heat therapy have been around thousands of years, why are we trying to reinvent the wheel? We did get pedicures and that experience was great. Our providers were great. We did get rushed into the pedicure room before our appointment time, but they realized that was a mistake and they had us down at the wrong time. Honest mistake. Nothing like the mistakes that were made while building this space. Overall the staff was pleasant, unfortunately I bet they are constantly having to defend the sub-par amenities.
