We absolutely love Ara Spa and continue to come back because the experience is consistently exceptional. It has truly become one of our favorite places to relax and unwind whenever we are in Black Hawk. Our most recent visit was particularly special because we were celebrating my partner's birthday, and I have to start by recognizing April, the Spa Manager. April, along with Jocelyn, Michelle, and Justin, went above and beyond to make his birthday feel incredibly special. The thoughtful gestures and personal touches throughout our visit were so unexpected and genuinely touching. They made us feel not only welcomed, but truly cared for, and turned an already special occasion into a wonderful memory for both of us. And, of course, a huge part of why we continue returning to Ara is Tom and Dan. They are both phenomenal massage therapists—professional, attentive, incredibly skilled, and consistently exceptional. We always leave feeling completely relaxed and taken care of. At this point, seeing Tom and Dan has become something we genuinely look forward to whenever we plan a trip to Black Hawk. The spa itself is beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained, but what really sets Ara apart is its people. There is a level of warmth and genuine hospitality here that makes every visit feel special. We are grateful to April, Jocelyn, Michelle, Justin, Tom, and Dan for the exceptional care they continue to show us and for making this birthday visit especially memorable. It is experiences like this that keep us coming back to Ara, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

I had an absolutely beautiful day at Ara Spa. Makayla was so pleasant to speak with on the phone, and then provided the best pedicure I've had in a very long time. The amenities are great and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Just a wonderful day treating myself! Recommended!!

Nice clean spa with a relaxation room (with snacks), steam room, sauna and hot tub. I enjoyed the service. They offer champagne or mimosas and you get a gift during your visit. I had an amazing facial with Samantha. She was friendly, professional and gave a great facial which included a shoulder, neck and arm massage. She also put my rob in the warmer so it was nice and cozy after my services. I highly recommend the spa during your stay I'm Blackhawk.

My husband and I spent the weekend at Ameristar. For weeks prior I tried to get someone on the phone at ara spa. Never could get a call back so when we arrived of course there were no services left available. We purchased a $50 each day pass to spa. Jacuzzi was Luke warm, steam room wouldn’t come on, and sauna didn’t get hot enough to even break a sweat. Got a refund and left after 20 minutes. Go to Monarch instead.

Unfortunately, attempting to schedule an appointment here is challenging due to the managements inability to be straight forward with availability for a mens haircut. My initial email (sent 2 weeks in advance of the requested date) to request an appointment was responded back with no availability for the requested date and no offer of when the next availability would be. I then replied back asking if anytime would be available during the next week and received almost a duplicate response with still no comment on when the schedule has openings. My third response asked specifically when the next availability would be and I was informed that there were none at all. Hopefully the management takes this as a learning opportunity since simply stating in their original response that they were not accepting mens haircut appointments would have saved us all some time.
