    Very disappointing experience at Sephora Southlands. I came to redeem my Sephora Favorites fragrance certificate shortly before closing. I was still deciding between several fragrances when the associate quickly redeemed my certificate for Jimmy Choo before I had finalized my choice. When I realized I actually wanted a different fragrance, I was told it could not be changed because the certificate had already been used. I felt rushed throughout the process because the store was closing. After trying the fragrance at home, I realized it was not the right scent for me. When I returned to explain the situation, I felt that neither the associate nor the store manager were willing to listen to what had happened. I was given an immediate “no” without any real discussion or attempt to help. I understand that policies exist, but customers should be given enough time to make a final decision before a fragrance certificate is redeemed, especially when the choice cannot be changed afterward. This experience left me feeling rushed, unheard, and disappointed.

    Had a very uncomfortable interaction today going to make an exchange. Wasn’t given my receipt to leave for review, I’ll share the experience here. I went into return a newly relaunched pallet. The quality isn’t what it used to be for a relaunch, as things can be for the beauty industry. As I was checking out the young Beauty advisor (short with a full face of freckles) said “I’ll be right back” and left me standing for five + minutes at a kiosk. She had her store manager – who was very friendly, absolutely enjoyed having a conversation with her about all things Sephora, comparing a newly opened pallet they pulled from the shelves and my return. This is definitely a conversation that should’ve been had not only in front of me or with me, as the implications being made by the young beauty advisor were absolutely explainable, rather than leaving me standing in the middle of the store. My only other interaction with the same beauty advisor was asking for the brand Kosas and being met with a reply of, “what” and pointing to where I needed to go. Then trying again and asking about a Korean skincare brand or its location with their reply of “Yeah we have that” rather than asking if I needed help or showing me the product. It was pretty shocking client service to say the least. Outside of this, my experience was pleasant in the store. Another associate explained the new Haus Labs name changes and guided me in the right directions when shopping the brand. While again the store manager was friendly and understood hygiene standards and my concerns with this interaction. The store was beautiful, fully stocked and all the products testers I looked at were clean. This location truly is a hit or miss when shopping with associates. The best experience always comes from the store managers. They all are always walking the floors and it shows their care for the locations and clients when you make conversations. Wish I caught her name to shout out the assistant store manager - she’s a keeper for sure!

    Don’t come to this location unless you want to be racially profiled. this is not a space for black people and they make that extremely clear the way they continued to FOLLOW ME around the store after I told them im good and I don’t need their help. Not to mention they wouldn’t stop staring at me the whole time I was there. might as well put a sign up that says no blacks allowed. such an uncomfortable experience.
