I have been seeing Hank at The NOW Massage once a month for the last year, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of the most exceptional massage therapists I have ever experienced. Over the years, I’ve had massages in many places and from many different therapists, and what I’ve come to understand is that massage is just as much art as it is science. Technical knowledge matters, but there is also something far deeper involved: intuition, presence, sensitivity, and the ability to truly listen to the body. Hank has that rare combination. His approach is incredibly intuitive. He works with a gentleness and calm precision that immediately creates trust and ease. There is nothing rushed or mechanical about his work. Every session feels intentional, grounded, and deeply attuned to exactly what my body needs in that moment. His presence alone has a calming effect, and his technique consistently leaves me feeling physically restored, mentally clearer, and more connected to myself. What makes Hank stand out is that he understands massage not simply as a service, but as real care. After a year of consistent sessions with him, I genuinely believe therapists like Hank are not a luxury, they are a necessity. In a world where stress, tension, burnout, and nervous system overload have become normal, people like Hank provide something profoundly important and healing. The NOW Massage itself is also a beautiful space. The environment is peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to help people slow down and breathe. But Hank is truly the reason I continue to return month after month. He is gifted at what he does, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Have been going to this location for years. I like the intimacy and aesthetics. Not too big or small, not 'chain' or 'franchise' feeling. The ocean waves sounds are so relaxing. Great therapists. Jon was wonderful today.

Updated 5.14.26 - increased to 4 stars The manager reached out to me and we had a wonderful conversation. Mgmt already reviewed the situation/case and we all had a solution that benefited both parties. A company that takes care of business is worth another shot. We will be back, and I will update this review once again. Original review: The NOW appears to have a lot of things going for it, but I just couldn't give it a better rating. The review factors in all aspects of our experience. My partner and I are both avid recipients of massage (at least once a month). TLDR summary at the bottom. The good: The front desk staff were amazing in their communication and ability to handle problems. We are not natives to AZ, so we booked at the PHX location, and showed up at the Scottsdale location (oversight when adding location to google maps - oops). The front desk handled it extremely well, put our mind at ease, and told us they will work with the other location to book whatever they could. It was initially set for a 7:30 PM, and they told us that we won't start until closer to 8:00. We appreciated all of their efforts and they transferred all of our appt info from the other location. The not so good: Our initial massages were set for Sports and the Now (apparently swedish, but that was the only option available). When we were introduced to our masseuse, they asked the typical, "why are you coming in today? Any areas you want to focus on? What type of pressure are you looking for?" questions. Now, we just finished hiking at Havasupai falls, and I clocked over 50+ miles over 4 days. I let them know this, told them my legs might be more tender, but please beat me up especially my upper body. My male masseuse seemed to have fully understood (based on his nods and comments while listening).... I basically felt like I was lightly caressed for an hour straight. When I received the pressure check in a few minutes into the massage, I politely asked for a lot more pressure. This barely changed. I believe his strokes were fine, I felt him use elbows and arms, just with no pressure. Oftentimes at this point, there isn't much that one can say to get much change as I felt like I was pretty clear up front. After the massage, my partner had this look on her face, and I knew she had the same experience. Naturally we talked about it afterwards, and her experience was identical to mine. An icing on the cake, it ended up being a 50 minute massage vs the 80. We completely understand that we botched up our visit, so we are not mad about the change, but we feel like it would have been nice to have been made aware of this. I did NOT factor this into the overall rating. Summary recap - This business is completely professional, took care of problems right out of the gate, and put us at ease. I would expect nothing less as they have locations in our home area in CA. However, the massage was... not what we were looking for at all. Coming off of a long trek, it really doesn't take that much pressure to make me feel something. I have been to Asian places that sometimes don't give good pressure either, but at $40 vs $125, that's a bit more palatable. Looking back more at their website, I also fully recognize that they seem to focus on Swedish which does not typically have much pressure at all, but then why bother even asking us what we need and what we're looking for? So maybe that's on us for still deciding to try this place out. With 100s of 5 star ratings though, we were convinced to give them a go. Hopefully, this review helps someone else out who might be looking for something more. More than happy to give more details to either the business or anyone else reading this review.

I usually have good experiences here until recently. I same day book a Mother’s Day massage and they called to charge us an additional $20 because it was Mother’s Day lol. We booked same day massage! We also bought Mother’s Day gift card that doesn’t apply to Mothers Day. Maybe NOW is just a corporate company that is about the bottom line but the feeling going into a massage and being nickel and dimed does not feel relaxing. Massage would be better if I wasn’t stressed about random price increases
