- GMGabrielle McnabApr 28, 20263.0We completed an online check in prior to visiting the store today. One gentleman walked in before us and sat down, and we came in shortly after. There was one gal cutting a customer’s hair, and another who had just finished and was organizing her supplies. No one greeted us when we walked in. The lady looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us. We sat down next to the gentleman who walked in before us, and our name was next on the list to be called. I assumed the stylist would acknowledge us once she finished ringing up her customer and was available. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. She called back the gentleman who walked in prior to us. When he stood up, I spoke up and said, “We checked in online.” At that point she looked at the screen, asked our name, and realized we were next. She seemed flustered and said we would be right with you. Normally this wouldn’t bother me, but we specifically scheduled that time because my son had standardized testing at 10am and we were on a tight schedule. The stylist on the west wall finished her customer shortly after and treated us very kindly. We appreciated her professionalism and made sure to tip her well. What left a bad taste in my mouth was the lack of acknowledgment and professionalism from the other stylist. As business owners ourselves, we understand how important customer service is. I know I had just come from a workout and farm chores and didn’t look dressed up, but the interaction came across as dismissive, and it felt like we were overlooked. Because of that experience, I will not be comfortable having the stylist on the east wall cut our hair in the future. This is for the owners feedback and training purposes.

Great Clips salons use Clip Notes®, which keeps track of any previous haircut you received at a Great Clips salon, so any stylist can give you a great haircut. If you would like to request a particular stylist, be sure to say that when you arrive at the salon and finish your check-in. Note that requesting a stylist may increase your estimated wait time.
If I checked in online, do I need to do anything when I arrive at the salon?
Once you arrive, check in at the receptionist desk to let the stylists know you're there. They will finish checking you in at that time.
