  If you’re looking for a hairstylist in Dothan, Alabama GO SEE DENISE at the JCPenney Salon! I could not be happier with my hair. Denise did an AMAZING job cutting, highlighting and toning my thick hair. The color came out beautiful and she actually listened to what I wanted and took the time to make sure everything was just right. What really stood out to me was how Denise genuinely cares about the condition of your hair and knows how to help you get the look you want while keeping your hair healthy. She is easy to talk to and made the entire appointment comfortable and enjoyable. If you’ve been looking for a new stylist, I would HIGHLY recommend Denise for any hair service!

  This was honestly the best experience I could have asked for for my level 2 autistic daughter. She as sensory issues, so I have cut her hair myself for the last 5 1/2 years. She's already had 4 good chops of 4" or more... her hair grows *fast*. I usually sit behind her in the bath tub and wash/condition, brush it out and cut it while she's distracted with her toys. Last time, we were both officially too big for that and I had to do it while she watched TV and ran away several times. It took me two whole business days to get it to look decent. 😬 I called and explained her issues in advance, and the stylist (Denise) was *super* nice and understanding. She was prepared with a clean, quiet workspace, a rainbow cape, and a fidget toy for my daughter. She was even able to hide a little bit of where my daughter had given *herself* several haircuts. 😅 NO MELTDOWNS! My daughter did great! And so did Denise!

  I have never been so insulted as I was today. I booked an appointment online with Wendy for a perm. I have always had curly hair but the aging process has made my hair less curly and I wanted to change that. Keep in mind I have never had a perm, bleach or anything else done to my hair ever and it is very long. Wendy first stated due to bleach damage to my hair and the condition that it was in, she would first need to do a treatment on it before the perm. I informed her that I have never had any process done to my hair, she wanted to argue with disbelief. If a hair stylist can’t determine natural hair (Medium Brown with natural highlights) from bleach/over processed hair, that in itself is a problem. Needless to say I left without any service because that was a huge no for me. My wonderful stylist moved away and I have been in search for another replacement, the search continues.

  Was given a 1:30 appt. At 2:00 I asked how much longer, the stylist was not even halfway thru a lady's foil. If you can't be on time, tell the person. Bad skills. So much for southern hospitality.
