  This is my first time ever having to leave a review for an establishment. I am beyond frustrated with how my haircut came out. I asked for a simple trim, about an inch off, with my bangs at eyebrow level. The stylist initially made a cut of my bangs and asked how I liked it. I said it was great, but then he proceeded to make them a whole inch shorter. My bangs now fall in the middle of my forehead. He spent a long time on the rest of my hair and when finished said "okay that’s about an inch and a half off". I couldn’t imagine where the length could have been lost in communication. I do not know the stylist’s name because he was not wearing a name tag and did not have a certificate displayed at his booth. I am now left with an atrocious haircut that is way shorter than it needs to be. I am thankful that I did not have to pay full price and had a coupon.

  What a great atmosphere! Corporate chains like this are often quiet, sterile places, but this Great Clips has fun workers who laugh and joke with each other and with customers. Plus, who doesn't want a good haircut at a great price?

  It's unfortunate how one bad experience can overshadow five good ones, but my experience at great clips today absolutely overshadows any great experience I've had in the past. This morning (on my birthday) I went in for a quick trim. Historically this is not a difficult ask and is a quick cut because my hair is thin. The associate who cut my hair asked how much I'd like off, I said usually around 1.5 inches is enough. She looked at my hair and said I think we should take two inches off and showed me on her comb about how much it would be. I had explained to her that I wanted to keep the length and wanted to keep growing it, that I only wanted it trimmed where it was needed to be cleaned up, including any layers that it looked like I had. I told her if the layers needed to be cleaned up she could trim them, but to try to keep the length. She said ok and then got started. At first it felt like any other trim I've had, but then she kept cutting and kept cutting and I looked down at the pieces of hair falling from her cutting and they were not 2 inches, they were closer to 3.5 or 4 inches. At that point there was nothing I could do because she had already cut it. She continued to cut layers into my hair. Ultimately when she was done, any length I had to my hair was completely chopped and the growth I had worked so hard for (over 3 years) was gone. I was very upset. I left and then called to speak with the manager. When the manager came to the phone she said "can you explain what you think happened". I explained to her my experience from this morning and she said "that is completely different from what my associate told me. I will need to review our cameras to see if what you are saying is true and if it is then I will give you a refund". She was extremely dismissive with me, I explained that her response to my concern was disappointing and frustrating. She stated it was policy. If you ever thought that great clips gives cheap and unprofessional haircuts, I am here to confirm your thoughts. It's just not worth it. If you do decide to go to great clips, be sure to never come to this location, unless you're looking for an awful haircut and an awful customer experience. I will not be going back ever again.
