  Buying make up can be a vulnerable experience and needing a color match after having something I used for years was hard to ask. Maya matched some but was stand off ish and looked like she’d rather be doing anything else and quiet and matching with terrible colors. It was really uncomfortable and when I said “maybe I’ll look online” she said “ok” and walked off. Just some human kindness would’ve been nice.

  If you ever want to see what a Gen Z stare looks like, come here. We have one girl on her phone and constantly checking her makeup, then the other one just standing at the reguster. Nobody to check out but customers on the floor such as me. I waited 10 minutes to get her to help me with getting a 175.00 bottle of cologne. In fact I had to go get her to help me. She reluctantly did. I asked her if she thought the bottle of cologne smelled good to her and there was the stare....after a few seconds she said " I don't know I'm not the one that's going to wear it"....Then a few more seconds of uncomfortable silence ...then she responds to me again.... "Do you want it"? ....I didn't want to drive to the mall so I replied "yes"....as I got to the register with all my things totalling 278.00...she looks pat me and gives the pad to my wife asking for the email address.....I WAS THE ONE PAYING LOL....as my wife was filling it out ...there goes the Gen Z stare again....after I paid for everything as a cherry on top she stops me and said " oh I forgot to charge you for the eyeliner " ....I responded "it's been in your hand the whole time".....and with her Gen Z stare after a few seconds says "well I forgot it ".....I feel bad for Sephora because I'm sure their options to staff are limited ....I think they need to train their employees a little better to show them how to sell their products...They definitely would increase their volume if they did....
