    This was my second visit to JCP Rockwall Salon, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst haircut I’ve ever had. I had very thick hair and wanted it thinned out. She offered two options: root or body thinning, I’ve only had regular thinning done with thinning shears so I asked which was better. She confidently told me it was root thinning and that it would help the reduce the weight of my hair. However, I had never had this done before, so I had no idea what it meant. She didn’t explain the process; she just started cutting. She cut sections of my hair by the root all the way up to the top of my head. Now, the top base of my head feels like a buzz cut, and throughout the back of my head, I can feel the spikes from where it was cut. As a result, my hair will grow back unevenly, and I don’t know how I’ll manage to even put it up in a ponytail when it eventually starts growing back. The top of my head will be the worst, and I’ve been upset and crying about it. I hadn’t treated myself to a haircut in several months and it’s disappointing that it resulted in this way. Despite her friendly demeanor, I’m at a loss for how to proceed with my hair. All I can think of is hide it under a hat when it starts growing back unevenly and not return back to jcp.

    Carissa is my go-to lady for cut and color and is an awesome stylist! She is personable, friendly and cares about taking care of her clients! And most importantly she does a great job for me and my family. We get compliments on our hair all the time. Also, the value at the Penney salons cannot be beat. So glad I found her!

    Horrible customer service from all. I was contacted at 12:00pm to cancel a 3pm appointment that had been booked the previous day and was for an important event at 7pm. When I requested a callback to escalate, the salon manager Rolanda sounded off as if she was in a brawl on the street corner or a drill Sargent stating the stylist would be leaving early and nobody else staffed to handle my appointment. She yelled at me several times and asked “what part of that didn’t you understand” when I reframed my question. When I’d had enough chastisement I asked to speak to Regional manager, she stated she wouldn’t pass my message along until the next day because today was her day off and she wouldn’t be doing anything more. She then hung up the phone. I contacted corporate and they did nothing to address. Not even an apology for their salon manager’s behaviors or last minute appointment cancellation-nothing! You are a sad, crumbling, wanna be retailer soon to be filing complete bankruptcy and extinct. All of these lazy employees will get just what they want-time off!

    Unfortunately I got one of the worst haircuts I have ever gotten in my life. I asked for layers. A lot of my hair was chopped off with no layers. My hair looks nothing like the inspiration picture. It is uneven and choppy. That with also being left in my chair for extremely long periods of time made this experience, unenjoyable and afraid to ever step foot in a JCPenney salon again. I was kind, courteous, and patient. But this was a very frustrating experience. I can tell the stylist was nice, and did her best and I did not for one moment give her a hard time. It is nothing personal, but her hair skills need a lot more work and I’m surprised she was even hired. JCPenney needs to do better. Not to mention the appearance of another stylist that showed up to work like she got straight out of bed from a long night of drinks with knots and all in her hair. You couldn’t even get a comb through that head if you tried. It was bad. It’s simply not professional.
