Sephora is always great. I do worry that since there are a lot of unsupervised children at the stores, that I do sometimes buy a product that I didn’t realized was opened/used, until I open it myself once I get home and sometimes have to return a lot of my items. I definitely do not blame the workers nor the store for that. The store workers are usually very sweet to me and are always working hard! I will just have to double check my items before buying them. 🫶🏼

I came in to get shade matched and my experience at this location was a mess. I was greeted at the door and told the male employee what I needed. He told me that someone should help me shortly. After waiting for a little while I decided to look around in the same general area in case an employee came to assist. Didn’t even get to the other side before an older lady told me to stay there and wait like if I was a child.
When I finally got help, I asked a second question about contour. The employee was very dismissive and handed me a bronzer after I already told her that most don’t work with my undertone. After that I went and looked around for other products and every single section an employee was there asking if I needed help. I felt like I was being watched instead of assisted.
What is absurd about the situation is that women had their toddlers running around the store, unsupervised, and I witnessed a toddler destroying the sample options. Instead of focusing on unsupervised kids destroying products they focus on black and brown customers thinking we’re going to steal.
It’s 2025 and we live in one of the most diverse cities and black and brown communities are still being subjected to racial profiling by other minorities at that. Do better Sephora and for BIPOC go to makeup companies that embrace you💕
