  I have used JC Penney Salon many times over the years but I am extremely disappointed in the service I received this past weekend. The stylist I used in January no longer worked there so I picked another. After the fact, I discovered she had only been licensed 2 months and it showed. She mainly used a feather knife in lieu of scissors and after I got home my daughter noticed it was incredibly uneven everywhere as far as length and thickness. The left of my bangs still reached my chin and the right hit my nose. Pieces on the ends were much thinner than the rest of hair and different lengths across the bottom. Furthermore, I specifically asked for my grey to be covered and she didn't touch my temples. I called this morning asking to be refunded for having to spend more time to get it fixed. The were insistent that they could only refund or fix and offered nothing for the inconvenience and trouble. This was not just dissatisfaction with the outcome; my hair more or less looked butchered. I left the salon with hair at my shoulders and once I had it fixed somewhere else, it had to be cut to my chin. If they had tried to make things right instead of being defensive, I probably would have come back. I can't say I'll ever use a JC Penney salon again.

  MeShelle is one of the kindest, most patient, and talented people I have ever met. I love sitting in her chair as she skillfully navigates my natural curls while sharing stories of wisdom and laughter. She has given me beautiful single strand twists and cornrows. She has educated me on my hair. I'm taking better care of my hair between appointments thanks to her guidance! You can't go wrong booking with MeShelle!

  Meshelle has been taking care of my short cut for a while now, and she always keeps it looking fresh and beautiful. I have a standing appointment with her every other week because she is consistent, skilled, and pays attention to what I like. She is patient, friendly, and truly talented. I always leave her chair feeling confident and well taken care of. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist who truly knows short cuts and is skilled in all styles for African American hair. She really cares about her clients.

  My experience with JC Penny Salon stylist MeShelle has always been positive. She has cut, colored and braided my hair over the years. My usual style is getting a silk press but there is nothing she can’t do. MeShelle is a very positive and professional stylist who I highly recommend. If you want a stylist who cares about the health of your hair and who provides you with high quality service then this stylist is for you.
