- LBLina BrionesSep 4, 20191.0I have gone to Jcpenney Salon in the past for a haircut. I went on Friday, 08-30-19 after I called to see if I could be taken as a "walk-in". I went in and was assisted by associate by the name Carmen. She was explained how I wanted my haircut and showed her a picture of how I wanted. Since the beginning I really didn't get the feeling she knew what she was doing because she asked another associate how she should cut my hair. They both started talking in their native language (I'm assuming Philippine) while I was sitting on the chair all ready to have my haircut. Carmen started cutting my hair and I saw that she was having a hard time knowing what angel to cut my hair, especially the front of my bangs. She was blow drying my hair in a manner I have never had my hair be blown dry at a salon, including Jcpenney, where I have gone before (both in McAllen and Brownsville Malls). I became so frustrared that after a while, I finally told her I would blow dry my hair in a different way because the way she was doing it, was leaving it messy and flat on the root of my hair (mind you, she didn't even put on a heat treatment like biosilk prior to blow drying of even a after, which all other hairdressers do all the time). I finally started to try fixing my hair on my own and ended using her straightener in order to leave from there half descent. $30.00 plus dollars later I left and ended up fixing on my own my front bangs and some longer pieces she had left from the back of my hair. JUST A NOTE, I never was rude or disrespectful to the associated and just wondered how she even got her cosmetology license.
